CW's quote on Bash:

"He's done well to be the match-winner because he was coming after 25 minutes because he was absolutely useless," Wilder said.

:D
No wonder he was useless if he was coming..... but then he scored.....did he use a............

Doesn't seem to phase him at all. This guy has got balls of steel.

It wouldn’t phase me either considering how pathetic it is and stems from.

For a club who get offended by chants about Turkey - and rightly so - for them to chant ‘Jimmy Savile is playing in goal’, is quite ridiculous.

Fuck Leeds.

He's written his own (rather long) headline which will go down in folklore...

Leeds gash car crash billy's ball bash dash epl cash stash out on the lash, mashed.

Safe to say that Bash is universally adored across our fanbase but many of us have said that probably needed that 'big' moment to seal legendary status.

Was today it? I think it very well could be if that is the goal that gives us the decisive edge in the promotion race.

A Blades player wearing fluorescent yellow and the number 6 scores a vital away winner in front of thousands of Blades fans? I give you...

Bash now elevated to Bob Booker status

April 13, 1991 at QPR. Booker's winner makes relegation near-impossible (after we hadn't won in the first 16 games of the 38-game season).

Bashambauer is already a legend. It's just that some don't realise it yet. :)

Bash reminds me of his dog and mine too. We both own Japanese Akitas. Determined , born warriors and stubborn as fuck. Bash may have his detractors but like his dog he gives it all no matter what.
Is Bash dangerous around young children too?

I like Basham. I like him a lot. Is he a "legend"? I don't think so. I think he's a footballer of average ability that gives everything every time he plays, and you can play him just about anywhere. That doesn't make him a "legend" though - I think that's a very special term that only applies to very few players throughout the club's history. I think we are getting a little bit carried away there. Understandable perhaps in the post match euphoria of beating a local promotion rival. I don't even think he was our best player yesterday. But, the lad is very special I agree about that and the way he slotted that goal home will live in the memory for a long time.

Bashams ability to read the game and see things early, is IMHO the best in the club.

He yet again, moved position in the team and did a job for the team.

The goal was typical of how he reads the game - and don't forget his break into their box just before half time also. Being near the tunnel, he was absolutely furious with himself when he came off at half time as he knew the importance. Quite fitting that he produced the winner. As for MoM - of course he was, with 10 others not far behind.

Still find it amazing that he is left out of the teams picked by some fans before games. In how we play, his type of player is the first on the team sheet because of what he brings to the team.

At times we have posts started about best player/most influential player etc - he may never come top of anyone's list - but he should be cemented as 2nd.

As for legend? - Bob Booker was in some eyes - Booker had cult status for me, but in the history of Sheff Utd, Bash must surely join the Legend status if we get promoted for sure.

He's been invaluable.
