feel for the 5k that travelled and every one of em deserves an apology from wilder this pissing about at the back sideways then back to the keeper is gonna lose him his job hes got to get a result sunday against watford

Peck needs to go out on loan to try and get a run of first team football. Brilliant against Wrexham different player tonight? Give him credit he didn’t hide, he’s going to have a decent career just needs to be consistent.

Not just the kids though, McCallum,Brewster,Rak-Sakyi,Anel,RND are all players that should be challenging for the 1st team

Yup McCallum looks dodgier than Burrows defending

Brewster.. nothing to be said apart from I doubt he'd score double figures in League 1.

Anel barely trying anymore.

RND turned inside out more often than a reused pair of underwear.

I did not see the game tbh, followed on here and the beeb. But I've seen every other game this season. We are very poor in final third imo. We do not have strikers that run the channels, upset the opponents defence, make themselves targets for through balls, get into the correct position to attack a cross from the wing. Not just lumping it up, hoping for a lucky bounce, McBurnie? Look at Sergent last weekend? Apart from Billy, I cannot think of striker we have had that knows where to be when we come forward. Wilder was a defender, he seems to lack the ability to understand how a striker should perform. Who is/are our forwards coach. Too many failed signings. All our goals so far this season have come from ATMs, outside the box. Bring Billy back as a forward/attacking coach. We must do better.

Davies - point a lot, pass it sideways
Sachdev - decent, especially first half
Anel - pass back to the keeper
RND - leggy
McCallum - alright
Peck - tried too hard, good in patches
Coulibaly - hopeless
JRS - some good dribbles, not that quick
Marsh - should count towards the attendance, did nothing
Hampson - tried a bit, out of his depth
Brewster - one good run, immediately subbed off

Trusty - at least looked bothered at how crap we were
Hamer - one man team on the left
Brooks - one man team on the right
Burrows - showed more than McCallum
Campbell - existed

Tactics - did we even have any? there was no real pattern of play, some of the subs were good in isolation, we needed an extra body in midfield rather than Marsh standing there watching the game pass him by, not sure how him and Coulibaly were both given the full 90.

as i had other things i had to work & DAB reception was poor & only managed to watch from 70mins. from what i heard & read. you cant start as badly a 2nd half like we did & barnsley deserved the win on that.

what happened to coulibaly. what happened to the guy that 18 months ago was brilliant in that FA cup game v spurs. seems that must have been a flash in the pan

Again and again there was no movement and Coulibaly didn't want the f***ing thing anywhere near him, absolutely hiding. Davies slowness in possession and Anel's lack of giving a shit and unwillingness to go forward were bloody unbelievable.

Well done Sachdev, well done Brooks when he came on and Hamer dominated (as he should) when he came on....Peck had a bit of a shocker but kept showing for it so at least showed some bollocks.

Barely anyone with any aggression in our entire squad though

This was the exact problem last time under wilder … I have honestly forgotten what a Sheffield United through ball looks like… it’s literally been years!

We dont hit crosses in earlier or from the right angles which means attacking players are stationary inside the box when the cross arrives.

Both of these massively help the other team when defending as they can push up higher win the ball back and break quickly on to our weetabix defence

There was a point where Couliably passed it 2 yards and then deliberately ran and stood next to/behind a Barnsley player so he couldn’t get the ball back.. he can get fucked off for that alone … never play again for me

You ever considered a career in sports journalism? 🤣 ;)

Sounds like great entertainment for the full away end!
I thought seriously about going to this, as it's a 10 minute train ride then 15 minute walk from my house.
Glad I kept my cash and stayed at home. I get it's the League cup, but it's not exactly brilliant prep for Watford on Sunday is it?? Especially when we've not looked very convincing at any game this season (Wrexham excepted).
I keep reserving judgement, but I've not really seen much so far to convince me that the manager actually knows what he's doing, let alone have us pushing for some level of success.
We'll see on Sunday, with hopefully a more "together" team. Watford are a decent side, but we do have individuals who are skilled and capable enough to get a result, ie, win. If we play like we have been, that won't happen, and the responsibility will lie firmly with Mr Wilder.

Giving Wilder good players is like giving me a Steinbeck piano and expecting me to play a tune

Brewster was deliberately hiding behind defenders all game, i really wanted him to be a success but i think this is the game where i have finally lost all faith with him

Thats bollocks, your just a moaning twat, who will say nothing positive about the blades. Tonight was awful, but making things up is a different matter.

Mate I saw it with my own eyes! My 7 year old also mentioned it… he passed it off and then moved next to the player so he couldn’t get it back ….

What do you do when you want the ball ? You move in to space which there was loads of to his left but he made a forward movement two yards next to the player and didn’t want the ball … he’s a shithouse … poor midfielder who should never pull on the sort again.

I will rise above the name calling mate … I give praise when it’s due and call it when it’s not

We’ve played 40 minutes of decent football all season and we are falling back in to patterns of play that should be sending warning signs around the fans

I accept we will finish 10th or so this season but only if we see some progress in terms of tactical play etc. at the minute and since wilder came back I am seeing nothing different

And Wilders not up to the job
If we have new owners coming in, Wilders under pressure from the off, me personally didn't want him back, get some players in Chris what's going to make a big difference or you might be shortly looking for another job!!

Don’t say anything negative … snipers are out

Don't play the victim card, you was the one saying a player went hiding, and should be fucked off. I'm saying we was awful and the player did not do the thing you have accused him. So please Don't start that shit. Has for looking for support with watch out snippers are about . Grow up we were crap simple across the board 1 to 11. But don't say you saw this that and other from players. To justify your disappointment.

You make no sense .. I know what I saw 👀 if you don’t that’s fine.

I’m no victim mate … you’re the one looking for an argument with your personal insults… you got nothing better to do than pick fights on here ?

Suppose you’re going after the ones who said Brewster hid behind defenders all game too? Or you conveniently forget those

And I don’t need support either … trust me

CW pre match said he didn't think many of the youngsters would go out on loan as they had done well. Tonight blows a hole in that statement. Peck, Marsh, Hampson, Sachdev should be out on loan. Only Arblaster, Brooks and to a lesser extent Sereki because of his strength and pace are capable first team squad players at the moment imo.

Some perspective we made 11 changes and got some minutes into the legs of Campbell and JRS. Of concern the second half fade out again and the fact we have very little threat up top. The ball was not moved from back to front quickly at all. There was no out ball until Hamer came on. We lack a physical presence in the absence of Moore. Critical we reinforce the strikers department.

A wake up call tonight that will hopefully do more good than harm with the realisation hopefully from the powers that be that purchases rather than sales take precedence before Friday at 11 p.m.
