Bannan says Sheffield Derby felt bigger than the Brum one.

Iys been said before IOM Blade
Scotland clearly dont want champagne football.
With Brown and co they obviously still crave Irn Bru stuff.

To me, that demonstrates a level of thickness and arrogance on Bannon's part. Goodness me, does he not interact with the fans at all? Just shows he has no respect for the people who ultimately pay his wages. Grrrrr.

PS: I know I have spelt his name wrong.

Sums it up doesn't it? Every single one of our players and staff will have known what the game means. Wednesday's obviously didn't.

You could tell in the build up to the game that we'd be far better prepared.

Bannan might as well quit Twitter for all the use it was - how the hell could he be so ignorant when fans will have been messaging him every day?

Wednesday fans have to doubt their management and squad's mentality. They can convince themselves it will all be OK for the return fixture but they can't be sure. It's nice not to have that problem ourselves. We know full well that our mentality and preparation will be perfect.

Fantastic journalism... again:

"has vowed to re-emerge on Twitter should he help Scotland beat Slovakia in their crucial World Cup qualifier with Slovakia tomorrow night"

“I deleted my Twitter account afterwards. I’ve not gone back on yet. We lost to Birmingham next and their fans hate me as well! “...
“So I did the grown-up thing and deleted it. “I will put it back on if we win on Thursday night though.”

Typical oinker.
Disappear when the going gets tough and re-appear when things are going well. :)

The Steel City derby is bigger than Brum's due to the amount of goals alone, let alone all of the intense passion and pride as well!

Sorry Danny, he meant the Brum/Villa Derby not SWFC v Brum. My ambiguity.

I always thought Bannan looked like a genuinely influential player--for Villa, too, long before he joined the snorters. Having seen a fair amount of him on the TV in the last couple of years, and in the derby game, can I recycle the current pork cliche and suggest that he would be some way away from our first XI ?

Short legs. Combustible. Limited range of passing. A combination of Poor Man's Duffy and Poor Man's Coutts.

Poor. And Pork. It's an emphatic No ! from me.

bigger then what he thought, what a muppet! More evidence how stupid football players can be, you got Ali middle fingering live on national tv and in front of 70k fans, you got Bannan thinking a derby game isn't that important, Rooney drink driving ...

Does this mean he has finally got out of Fleck's pocket ? Quite unbelievable that he is ahead of Fleck and Coutts in Strachan's thoughts. Then again Gordon does look like the typical Jock alcoholic.

Barry Bannan thought he was a good player until Fleck and Coutts smashed him.

Sounds like excuses from Bannan..he looked fairly fired up when picking up a booking for a bad lunge on JOC early on...but he didn't know it was a big game..yeah right...outplayed and schooled and nullified by our midfield.

Sheffield derby is bigger than the Villa - Brum one.

Simple reason being the Sheffield clubs are two evenly matched big clubs (but with United growing faster nowadays compared to the pork) and the Birmingham derby a bit of a mis-match in terms of size of the clubs.

In a few short years United v The Pigs will probably be about the same level as Forest v County.

Because we will have left those sad delusional fuckwits so far behind the bigger derby for them will be against Sheffield FC.

I thought Bannan and Hooper were the only ones who showed up to play us. He is a Wilder type player that fans immediately warm too.

As for deleting social media account, footballers are people who get riled up in defeat just as much as they savour victory. He obviously wasn't in the mood, cannot see the disgrace in that.
