Away kit looks nice

It'll be classed as an all time classic if we win promotion at Wembley, every fucker will want one, looks shit in July but mark my words come next may you will wish you had bought one, yes I have been on the ale but you know I'm right.

Was about to post same. It really is an abomination of a kit, and whoever at the club signed off on this should be stoned to death in the car park. However, it will achieve cult status if we get promoted in it. The kit no one loved...

The new kit is a complete and utter shambles. Whoever at SUFC gave this kit the green light needs stringing up.

......by their testicles, with piano wire, in the car park at BDTBL and hitting with a big stick, with a nail in it. A big rusty nail. Like a human piñata. Captain Blade can do the hitting, unless he’s somehow in on the nonsense, and we’ll string him up as well. Until they apologise, until the whole lot of ‘em apologise. Profusely. And then they’ll get sacked. Even then it’ll be too little too late. How can you mess up red stripes so spectacularly? I’ve got bad vibes about this season already. I have a funny feeling in my water, a feeling that no amount of cranberry juice will shift. :(

I think its nice, it looks smart, I like the stripes, the neck, the material and the sleeves just wish it had stripes on the back. Don't think the fact it doesn't makes it hideous though. Sponsor is almost black so the red and green should never be seen is not an issue imo.

Think the kit as a whole would be improved by black and red socks though.

I know you've edited that there but take the original photo and it really is like several kits in one:

  • Socks from one kit
  • Shorts from another
  • Front of the shirt from another (they got that bit right actually, IMO!)
  • plain shoulders with black stripes from another
  • Plain white sleeves from another
  • Tacky sponsor from another
  • And that fucking back from another.

Brentford have a new home shirt complete with a red back.

Having seen it like that, it kinda looks better with a white back.

WE JUST WANTED STRIPES!!!

For a minute I thought this was part of the two teams being introduced to each other...

How is the sponsor almost black? It’s fucking green

That sponsor is worse than the while back. And that’s something we can actually change.

Also - red numbers would make the world of difference.

I’m assuming the club are aware of how shit everyone thinks it is?

I guess proof will be in the pudding in terms of sales.

The back is the worst aspect over the green sponsor. As others have said it looks like to separate kits and you’d assume, may be confusing for the players. Red would have been much better and meant that more than 25% of the shirt was actually in our primary colour.

In direct sunlight and studio lighting it's green. In every other situation is very very dark green and looks almost black.

The kit will have an enormous effect on our season. You simply can’t win matches in an unpopular or unattractive outfit.

Good job its not then.

Where's this idea come from that it's universally viewed as unpopular and unattractive? Everyone speaks in absolutes about the new kit but even on the poll on this website the majority think it's fine.

Thank Pele for that. I could scarcely believe my eyes at some of the grotesque away kits that have beaten us at the Lane. Bristol City’s purple and green creation, to give but one example.

They don't. 94% wanted stripes

Admittedly there's disappointment in the fine option.

It's just the level of whinging on here about the kit is getting ridiculous when people are getting down about the season before we've kicked a ball in a competitive fixture.

Does it have stripes yes
Is it red and white yes
Does it have a united badge on it yes
Will it have our players in it yes

It's not a classic, but it'll do for one season.

I think the major disappointment with the kit is not just how it looks but also the fact its a bit of a subconscious reminder of one of the worst season many Blades can remember, Adkins' 11th finish in LG1 in essentially a whole white kit.

This was the low point when i think most felt they had lost the identity of our club in more ways than one. The last two kits were hailed along with Wilder, style of play and the taking back of the club and being United again. The memory of 15/16 is maybe just a bit too fresh in the memory. Maybe just me?

P.s i understand the club have to change it and i encourage that. I like it from the front personally. Just add stripes on't back.

Up to now I’ve been very laid back about the kit. However, seeing that my first impression was “fuck me that’s bad”.

As others have said it looks like two different kits sewn together.

The statement from Adidas regarding ‘providing a plan back for teams who traditionally have a striped kit’ seems completely disrespectful from me. They need telling that it’s not good enough

Well it is. The home kit and the away kit !

See your point. But it won't help the coffers too much if nobody buys it?

Anyone who buys that bollox home shirt is part of the problem in my eyes.

Some people will just rock him and accept any old mediocre shit (cos it's Sheff Yoooonited int it). If you don't buy it your not contributing financially and they may just up their game in future.
