How do you rate your chances this season?

Staying in the premiership was the only goal at the start of the season. Having struggled for more then a decade to get back to the big time we are in no rush to return to the footballing wilderness and we have given ourselves a very good chance of achieving that aim.

What will represent a successful season in most of the fans' opinions?

Staying in the premiership, pure and simple.


Who have you signed during the summer?

A bucket load from the bargain bin as well as Rob Hulse (Leeds) and Claude Davis(Preston).
Jon Stead(Sunderland), Luton Shelton(Helsingborg) and Matt Kilgallon(Leeds) joined in January.

Of the players you have sold, who will be the biggest loss to the team?

The players who have left were mostly dead wood, the influence of Neil Shipperley and David Unsworth could have proved useful at times.


What formation/tactics will be favoured?

I expect us to go 4-4-2, that is as much as I’m willing to divulge.

What's been your best moment as a fan to your team?

This season has to be the win against Arsenal, overall has to be the promotion last year.


And your worst?

Play-off final defeat against Wolves at Cardiff, we deserved better following a fantastic season.

I’m afraid I think that you will go down.

Which Charlton players do you rate?

Darren Bent; he never impressed me at Ipswich but he has turned into top class striker.

What's your general impression of Charlton as a club?

Under Curbishley you seemed to punch above your weight but since his departure things have taken a turn for the worst.

I think you will struggle to bounce back if you are relegated.

How do you rate your chances this season? I'm certainly more optimistic of survival since we defeated West Ham, although after the loss against Newcastle I wasn't so sure. I think we need to keep working hard, once we get a lead we need to keep attacking! United's "never say die" attitude is commented on by many, if we keep this up we should be ok.

What will represent a successful season in most of the fans' opinions? Survival obviously.. (Although there will be someone somewhere who won't be happy with just survival - they'll have wanted cup runs etc)

Who have you signed during the summer? Claude Davis, Rob Hulse, Mikele Leigertwood, Colin Kazim-Richards, plus several others in the January window.

Of the players you have sold, who will be the biggest loss to the team?
Everybody always talks about losing Billy Sharp to Scunthorpe in August 2005 - now leading goalscorer for newly promoted Scunthorpe United. Would he have been hitting the net as much for us? Personally I think not, different leagues, different formats etc. Of who we lost in January - I'll miss Paul Ifill, David Unsworth and HMS Shipp, aka Neil Shipperley. Unfortunately, they weren't fitting into the team Mr Warnock wanted, but they featured heavily in our promotion season, of which nobody will forget.

What formation/tactics will be favoured? Not 4-5-1!

What's been your best moment as a fan to your team? Overall it has to be tied between Phil Jagielka's stunning strike against Leeds United (06/11/02) in the Worthington Cup tie and being in the pub watching Leeds United VS Reading score unfold last April- a draw or a win for Reading would secure our promotion and it did - parties in the street, parties in the Lane car park.. just unbelievable.

And your worst? Selling Brian Deane & Jan-Aage Fjortoft on the same day, our best strikers, in 1998, losing to Port Vale at home in front of one of smallest crowds ever in 1999, Being denied a Worthington Cup Final place by Liverpool at Anfield in 2003, an FA Cup Final place in 2003 by Arsenal's David Seaman - miracle save at Old Trafford, then losing the Play Off Final in May 2003 3-0 to Wolves.

Think they may get the final relegation place I'm afraid.. think they may just lose it on final day.

Have absolutely nothing against Charlton - would be a shame to see them go back to Championship. Think they play well most games and like us, often get overshadowed.

Its been tought we got off to a slow start and picked up and became 10 points clear, then dropped again in a run of tough games, but seem to be turning it round i think we have a huge chance of staying up
