Last night my 11 grandson managed to get a ticket for the cup and due to being poorly again Big C come back ffs (I'll smash the bastard again lol )I couldn't take him so his Nan took him 1st time for both on kop as couldn't get 2 seats together in family stand, anyway he got a autograph book for Christmas, and as the players were warming up he managed to get Wes attention and he was fantastic with him more that happy to sign his book and be the 1st in his book ,switch to Adam Davies, totally blanked him and others total shithouse stroke, these young uns are the future of our club and the players well some need reminding of this,Davis needs to be more humble. Great pen save ,but 1 minute of his time can/could have a big effect on young uns, good job we won lad was buzzing going home, sorry for rant but I've no doubt others have experienced same thing

Some clubs have a rule, often made by the manager, that autographs/signatures by the first team playing staff are not allowed on match days.
Maybe PH has put that into place at United?
Looks like Wes will be in brown stuff then as he signed young un's autograph book

First of all so sorry to hear that your grandson (and all of you as a family) are having to deal with this awful thing. I wish him and your family all the best for the future.

I think it’s unfair on Davies and the other players to call them out on this particular occasion. In my experience, like all decent clubs, the Blades players and the club as a whole really do understand and commit to supporting and engaging with the community. So many occasions when you can see this happening but, in the warm up before a match, as professionals, I expect them to switch off from distractions and switch on to the job in hand. Wes wasn’t playing in the first XI so had a different context. I don’t want to see the players spend time with fans just before a game but great to see them oblige with selfies, autographs etc on arrival at the ground, after the game etc.

Maybe write to the club to explain the context and I’m sure they would oblige with an autograph and/or photo. Again, all the best to your grandson

I remember as a young lad nervously approaching John MacPhail for his autograph. He couldn’t have been more of a gent and happily signed and chatted. A memory that has stayed with me for 40 years.

The impact of being kind or being a cock should never be underestimated.

If there is a club rule then publicise it.

There isn’t any such club rule. Most likely Davies didn’t see the request or no doubt he’d have obliged

I am sure McAtee was signing autographs on the South Stand as he was leaving the pitch yesterday.

I don't know what the club policy is on it though. Players tend to sign them before going in the ground?
He was giving his shirt to a young kid a few seats along the row from us 👍⚽

First team players arriving today, posing for photographs, signing almost everything, talking to a
few Blades who were bringing young kids for their first ever Bramall Lane experience, they were
delighted with all the players, Sander Berge could have been there from midnight, the amount of
supporters wanting a moment with the player. Well done United, what a day for those first time, first teamers!!
