I've said for ages now that we need to do something with the upper tier. But where do we start? I'd say it has to be supporter led, and then put to the club hoping for their assistance and co-operation.

Maybe if we can establish enough interest in moving to the upper tier when possible we'll have the basis to ask for the club's assistance?

Not very interesting, quite straightforward. You clearly seek contraversy in many of your posts.

I'm so sorry for having the temerity to express opinions I hold.
Please get back to me with your requirements so in future I only post what you deem acceptable.
Profuse apologies.

Everything is shit compared to 'The good old days'...

When every fan sang, tickets were cheaper than a bag o' chips and we all had a fight to prove how hard we are.

2017 pal - people go to a football match to be entertained. Not everyone just wants to get pissed up and shout til their voice is hoarse.

Oh well.. not as good as THE GOOD OLD DAYS!

If they could clear 1000 seats at the back of the kop they'd sort it. There are currently two singing sections, 50 yards apart, that quite often counteract each other.

Next season the upper Lane end (still the Stones Bitter Championship in my eyes!) may well be full of away fans as half the teams in the Championship will bring 2,000 upwards so its the lower we need to think about selling, maybe on the cheap because the view is crap in comparison to the Kop - certainly from half way upwards of the Kop.

Grow up, tool. Post what you like, just don't publicly cry like a small child when you provoke the responses that you craved in the first place.

There's clearly plenty of interest Herb. It was packed all round the area I was. Unfortunately it was packed largely with comotose, disinterested people who wouldn't raise their voice in disagreement let alone getting behind this outstanding team.

I'm wounded by your cruel and heartless put downs. Never before have I come accross anyone so up their own arse they think they are all that.
I'm crushed. Probably never post again.
Don't know how to deal with this. Sob.

I go along with SBT,I thought it was a bit tame...I expected it to be rocking today.
It's been worse, but this was to salute the Champions so I thought we'd crank it up.
Maybe the early kick off didn't help....Enjoyed the game,Billy and Leon were great first half...looked a good partnership today.Always thought if Leon could get a run and get fit ,he'd be a threat....oh yeah Bradford were decent, good luck to them in the play off's.

The Kop's permanently disjointed and many of the younger fans towards the centre fail to produce the sort of noise they should.

If only we could extend the Kop, have a terrace at the back and have the opportunity for a fresh start.....

Perhaps forum members might take your posts more seriously if they didn't think you'd raced home to get on your plastic piano to cause some bollocks on the forum again

Sean, you create this kind of thread regularly. It's as if you can't just be happy but have to find something to moan about.

I don't care whether the crowd sing or if they play cards, as long as they don't start fighting and throwing things. I don't go there to watch my fellow fans; I go to see the team, and they've been great all season.

In any case, what you keep saying is not true. Everyone who sits around me is noisy all through the game, week after week. Have you checked your hearing aid to make sure it's working OK?

Pardon?

I thought after the pond life pitch invasion, the number that stuck around to see the players come back out, spoke volumes..UTB :):)

He's come on an hour after the game, the one in which we're all celebrating being champions, to moan that the atmosphere wasn't up to his standard. Feel sorry for the bloke

From my seat on the JSS kop end it was pretty loud - particularly from the kop and South stand H block. Not constantly but enough to create a good atmosphere.

I have just watched it on tv and it sounded even louder - far noisier than most games on tv. I guess this is because when you're at the match what you hear depends on where you are sat but tv gives a more rounded impression.

There is not going to be singing for 90 mins. Not at any ground in the country. Clubs like the pigs and Leicester have drums, trumpets and stupid plastic clappers to fill the silences - but they sound shite and spoil the match. Give me the atmosphere at the Lane any day.

I have posted my fair share of negative comments over the years but how anyone can post anything negative after the champions of L1 destroyed one of their nearest rivals in front of 27k is beyond me.

IMO the Kop always sounds great from where I am. I wish we had safestanding areas in the ground, it really helps with getting an atmosphere going. Top of the Kop always stand up, so I feel as if that's where the atmosphere comes from. With everyone else in the stadium sat down, people just dont feel like singing

Unfortunately with having won it on Saturday the edge had gone a bit on the excitement
It sounded ok on tv but we were so in control and comfortable it was very relaxing viewing

It would have been far more vocal if Bradford had put up a fight, would have lifted the crowd to get involved more
But in truth it was far far too easy

mind you its a different sort of complaint , we are that good it became a forgone conclusion

I'm afraid clubs like Leeds ( I despise them as much as anyone the way) and a few others have a different approach. For them, singing and shouting for their team is an essential part of the match. It's their function; it's their job; it's their finction; it's their contribution.

Most of our lot simply don't see it that way. They prefer to moan, or at best, sit in silence. Singing and chanting just isn't on their teamsheet. I believe it's a symptom of Bladey Inferiority Complex. They actually feel awkward about encouraging the team.

We're you in the Sentinel after the match?

Never was going to be a wall of noise today. The fact that both promotion and winning the league were not confirmed at a home game took that possibility away. For a wall of noise, there has to be tension.
Fans away always make more noise than at home. Unfamiliar surroundings, being in a minority, day out, self-selecting committed fans, etc. At the big, crucial home games (cup matches v Spurs, Charlton, etc.) there has been plenty of noise, but 3rd division home games are rarely going to do it.
And Bramall Lane has not traditionally been noisy. Until the 1970s, the cricket pitch meant much of the noise was lost. Away-days were always much noisier.
