"Sing up Shoreham".........was all the guy in front of me was on about all game. In the end i said "Why don't you concentrate on the great football being played and grow up". He shrugged his shoulders, then 2 mins later......"sing up you wankers".
What a waste of his money having a pop at fellow Blades in our long overdue time of triumph. Not everyone wants to sing . I join in when the tempo of the game is high but the quiet spells in the game are met with the big gobs shouting abuse at the guys enjoying watching the game. .............so leave us alone!
Like on here really with a few loudmouth showing us all up

How come you haven't been banned yet you obnoxious tit ?

Probably because unlike you I don't pretend to be all that.
Im sure your username is the perfect personification of you as a person.
ie a waste of your dads jizz.

the worse thing about bladesmad shutting down is being subjected to arsedribbles like you on here now

You're going on ignore now

When the kop was standing there was respect for people that had been giving support for decades but was irrespective of where they were standing. By hogging the key areas at BDTBL the older folk are slowly killing the atmosphere and its a bit selfish in my view to slowly choke something others also love when there is a choice that works better for all. Its the classic dog in a manger story but clearly a taboo subject so will come up after every home match but rarely for away matches and for good reason.

I ask my kids to show respect to me but I wouldn't do things that stuff up their future and things they love.
I am puzzled about what you would like me to do. Been going on the Kop since 1953, moved into good seats after relegation in the 1990s (there were loads not taken up), far enough back not to get rained on, no pillar in front, and sit next to son and grandson. I sing loudly and tunelessly. I love it on the Kop. Do you really want me to feel bad about continuing to go there? I'm beginning to feel uneasy about the level of applause given when a death is announced...;)

Thats fantastic. Thank your Dad next next time you're visiting the zoo sweetcheeks.

Dont ignore the possibility that most of these"increasingly quiet old people" might have served their time on the Kop when the chabbies on here were in their crib. A hard core following of the sixties, seventies and eighties would laugh out loud on hearing that only the younger fans matter, and then rightly tell you to show some respect.

Are the old uns massively out numbering the young un nowadays ?

Bramall lane now resembling a retirement home for geriatrics looking for a bit of peace and quiet on an afternoon o_O

Seems like that, Luke, but when you buy or renew a season ticket, it's a question of first come, first served, not a question of whether or not you're going to sing.

I'm ignoring your edit line, you must be better than that

Sorry but that's bollocks. In my opinion obviously.

I could argue that youngsters today don't love and support the club like we did at their ages because the atmosphere isn't as good - which is a fact - But you know what, that'd be bollocks as well.

I take a marker pen to the game with me and wait for some of my geriatric friends to drop off . When they do I draw a cock and bollox on their foreheads . Life doesn't get more vicarious than that ;)

It's not because they're geriatric. It's because thei're absolitely hammered.
You need to keep these type of people out Luke.
Totally agree alcohol has NO part WHATSOEVER to play!!!

That's why I ' brand ' them and shame them SBT . Next time you see some doddering old twat with a cock and bollox on their forehead , don't pick them up off the floor , call the fuzz .

There are only two teetotal blokes in Yorkshire and both post on here. Lukey is one. The other one thinks CHL is odd as well.

Why is that bloke in green messin with my place in the middle of the kop, I've had it for decades. All this talk about the kop being a livelier place when it was all standing and younger folk could gather and sing and jump around is all bollocks in my opinion. They should show more respect to old folk like me that prefer a quieter life. Me, I'm not the problem, they are.

Well I'll go to the bottom of our stairs. My wife often asks why I have a cock and bollocks drawn on my pate when I get back from the match.

BTW, your strapline of 'vicarious living rids our boredom';- Flux of Pink Indians (Epileptics) - been there, seen it done it and now use the T shirt for polishing the car....

The possible answer is to use BLUT as unallocated seating for home fans - either day tickets or ST. Then the singers and chanters can get there early and congregate, and the quiet folk who go there can always move away if they don't like it. It worked in the past. Could do it with BLLT I suppose, but the view and acoustics are better at the top.

UTB

If you had a penis growing out of your forehead, how long would it have to be before you could see the tip?

Actually impossible, you'd have a bollock in each eye socket.....

The club have been right on point giving the ground back to the fans with the whole BLUT today. I swear to God most of the sad gets in their today should have gone to a fucking garden centre not a match. I was embarrassed we were live given the shit vocal support.
Hate to say this but I genuinely think in our position today the fucking pigs would have rocked the joint especially given the great football on show.
A couple sat behind me spent the whole fucking match talking about the behaviour of some cunt in an episode of some fucktard soap opera. Disappointing vocal support.
Think it's just a case of mass PTSD sbt. Give people time to recover, many have forgotten what it's like to be successful, by now we should have collapsed and let Fleetwood overtake us but for once we've got it right and many don't understand. I see them walking away from the ground after another win like a scene from a herd in the Walking Dead.
CW/AK have built the dream, they will come, oh yes they will come.

A nail-biting squeaking bum-cheeks end to the season (maybe a bit like Bolton right now) is a recipe for some thunderous noise from fans desperate to see the ball hit the back of the net... final minute, 3 points to nail promotion stuff. We know what it's like...... Burnley v Hull remember guys - we weren't even playing, yet that was possibly the most memorable nail-biter of the lot!! No problem or arguments about crowd response that night.
However, a team totally dominant for the majority of the season and nailed-on Champions from the turn of the year (yes - that long ago) is always going to lead to a bit of an anti-climax in terms of crowd reaction.
Considering the very happy circumstances our long-suffering fans found themselves in (a bit surreal if you think about it) then I think the crowd response and community singing on Monday was brilliant.
Some fans who always seem to want something to complain about really do need to re-evaluate their lives. Jeez - we sing "Always look on the bright side of life" as advice to the other lot; maybe some of us need to look in the mirror and sing it!

I thought the atmosphere on the kop was fairly good. Decent amount of singing (largely about a magic hat). Not quite the intense roar you get in a huge game with a lot riding on it but pretty good. Unfortunately, the rest of the ground just don't seem to want to sing much. I'm not sure why.

It's not moaning, it's pointing out something we can improve on as a fanbase.

The atmosphere has been relatively flat for the whole season at home, despite the magnificent performances. It was explained away as nerves when we did have something to play for, but now it's because we don't have something to play for.

Our atmosphere at its best could be worth 10 points next year if the Lane is bouncing. Opposition players simply won't be able to handle it. Surely trying to reach that level is something everyone can agree on?

I don't think it was "explained away" as nerves. If anything that was ridiculed.

The atmosphere is of course important and needs to improve. However that, if it does, will increase naturally rather than anything being put in place or forced upon fans by others.

This desire to be like Palace etc is the antithesis of being a Blade, as the spontaneous reaction at say, the Charlton cup game or the standing applause v Hull proves, and will always be much better than some orchestrated Gang Show performance by "UK Ultras", who are nothing like their European counterparts.

Interesting responses. A fair few actually responding to the OP and agreeing whilst others disagreed.
Then there are those who for god knows what reasons consider an opinion other than a complete wankfest is tantamount to being a pig fan.
I maintain the atmosphere was very muted. Can't comment on how it sounded on tv as I wasn't watching one.
The BLUT is the perfect place accoustically to make a right fucking din as countless small numbers of away fans have shown for years. The club have been fantastic in doing everything they can to get SUPPORT for our brilliant team on all four sides. Something many on here have wanted and congratulated the club for. Today was the perfect opportunity for the place to absolutely rock.
The kop never gave up but wasn't very loud. South stand got better as the game went on but as the Bradford fans rightly sang "Champions and you still don't sing"
I've lost count of the number of posters demanding more vocal support,a return to the fortress Bramall Lane situation.
Well the players and the club have done there bit to facillitate that.
Piss poor Lane end today.

I agree generally that as you say, the club have done their bit and i think generally, we can be, and have been louder in support of our team. But I think sitting on the kop, my perspective was different to yours and I thought there was a good atmosphere there. It went quiet for a spell in the 2nd half but overall was decent. I hope we will improve next season in the chamionship but compare the atmosphere monday to anything last season and i think there's a clear improvement.
