It's so flat and stale at times that you could fall asleep. I know we were playing swindon yesterday, but even still the whole first half not one chant during open play. You could hear a pin drop at times. We are playing good football and there is optimism surrounding this season. It still feels like we are waiting for a goal to go in before we come to life. Why couldnt the first half be more like the second. Don't get me wrong im not saying its horrendous just not great at times. A good atmosphere i really do believe helps the players, it gives them belief, confidence, energy and passion. A quiet 20k must be horrible to play in front of! I woukd rather play in an empty stadium than 20k of silence, would make me feel nervous.
We used to be amongst the loudest in the country but feel we are quite timid/average these days. How can we improve this and why do you think this is?
Safe standing?
Singing section - aka palace?
Is it the calibre of teams we are playing?
Or is it just me? Can't deny that the PL days we used to shatter opposing teams with noise/chanting
