Chansiri plans to rename them the Sheffield Tunamen.

Psst ! Just a quiet word whilst rest un em are chuckin' thesens off a cliff over Wilder leaving for the mackams, which he isn't.
Edit to - Chancer plans to rename them as Sheffield Bluefins.
Its a breed of tuna. OK pal ?

UP THE BLADES

Generally the difference between PV and Stoke is that the Vale fans to a man are scruffy bastards while the Stokies still tend to dress like Noddy Holder around 1974. Instead of the Five Towns it should be called the five shithouses.
there are some nice places near stoke whitchurch and the lake district is only a 3 hour drive

Just thinking about many of Roygbiv 's "Views from" and many of the opposition fans have stated that they "never liked" us, "always preferred Wednesday" etc. etc.

This got me thinking, are we generally viewed as the Trampy, Violent team in Sheffield? Are we to Sheffield what Port Vale are to Stoke?

I know many slag the pigs off for being up their own arses, but that feeling is usually from the other local teams who understand the area.
oh yeah.. bring it on! :D

so , not only has Chris virtually left us and now we are debating whether to clap him on his inevitable return

Theres a real surreal thought process that has descended on some blades

Im waiting to see Alan Knill as head bouncer at Pizza Hut
and McCabe as maitre#d at the golden Phoenix chinese restaurant in the chinese quarter

Adkins brought back in after his success at Hull and Brian the blade is to become Arch bishop of Sheffield

I think we're viewed as the plucky, working class, underdog team in Sheffield.

Wednesday will always be viewed as the 'bigger' club.

That's just how it is in two team cities.

Man Utd > Man City
Liverpool > Everton
Arsenal > Spurs
AC Milan > Inter
Celtic > Rangers
Newcastle > Sunderland
Forest > Notts County
Wednesday > Blades

And yes I know that all those teams don't necessarily inhabit the same city.

Four of those have changed over the years, one fairly recently.

AC are the working class club in Milan.

Until the Sinister Serb took over, Wednesday had been run for ever by a clique from Tapton Masonic Hall....That is never going to be classy!

They were founded before us and played at Bramall Lane before we did and as far as Bert is aware they only played outside the city boundary for one year, which was 1899.

Still one season more outside the city boundaries than us

Always preferred Port Vale to Stoke anyway! Rovers to City, Man City to Man U etc etc. Difference between us and the other examples is that we're actually on a par with our rivals size wise whereas the others aren't. And I much prefer our identity as underdogs as opposed to arrogant big brother types which Wednesday fans revel in.

Playing anywhere that would have the piggy bastards they never really had a settled home until moving to the sty.
The last time they moved was the century before the last one. Not exactly gypsies.

Much better to be unfashionable and revelling in the hate than to be constantly begging other fans' approval and recognition like the undignified S6 filth.

We welcome people from all over the place into the fold, I see it all the time. Anybody else isn't worth the steam off my piss quite frankly.

I don't even like half of our own fans, I'm sure as hell not going to give a fuck about outsiders.
To make sure I’m a true Blade, can you make sure I’m in the half you don’t like please? ;)

Before we were formed.

That's like the "I've supported the Blades a lot longer than you Sonny" spoken by a sixty year old to a teenager, argument.

Bert doesn't go for this South Barnsley shit, nor calling each other pigs. He's merely correcting those who claim that they don't play in Sheffield. They do, and they have done for longer than we have.

I doubt anyone actually calling them South Barnsley believes that's where they play and therefore really don't need correcting.

In Bert's opinion there are quite a few contributors to this site who are totally detached from reality......never mind the obsessive weirdos in General Chat who spend all day long copying and pasting Twitter shite.

Bramall lane was never the home of the pigs they paid to use the ground until they became a professional club, their first home was Olive Grove until the railways forced them to move to the rust bucket which at the time was outside of Sheffield. The fact is they have only been professional a few years longer than we have, for 20 years they were an amateur outfit much like Sheffield FC and other teams in the area. Sheffield wasn't officially added to their name until after WW1.

No its is a large number of their fans that come from "not Sheffield" - Ecclesfield, High Green, Chap, Deepcar, Stocksbridge etc were not at all within the Sheffield City limits back in the day

opinions seems to be The Grunters are seen as slightly the bigger team

'Seen to be' - because they spunked 10 million on a striker maybe. One of the Swill claimed they would be where Wolves are now if they had a full strength team all season...

The human condition is so fickle that people go all gooey eyed at the spending 'investment' of money.
Especially when it is not theirs.

What about the obsessive weirdos that can only mention themselves in the third person?

I always thought of Sir Chris Hoy as a bit of a tosser until I heard:

"Next day, Hoy meets some Scottish journalists. One puts it to him that: 'In the last 24 hours everyone has been offering an opinion on Chris Hoy. But what does Chris Hoy think of Chris Hoy?'

Hoy doesn't miss a beat: 'Chris Hoy thinks that the day Chris Hoy refers to Chris Hoy in the third person is the day that Chris Hoy disappears up his own arse."

Bert seems to be deflecting.....
