Are most neutrals supporting Sunderland?

She's a typical plastic fan.

I think most traditional fans will want us to go up as we finished third over 46 games. Plus we were 14 points clear of them means we deserve it more. Anyway, who gives a fuck what neutrals think. After 60 plus years of supporting the Blades I think I deserve it.
Not the only thing about her that’s plastic…

I don’t really care about neutrals who want us to win either.

Yes, good luck to Sheffield United. They have a cathedral and Sunderland do not

We've got spares if you want.
Aye
Us big church folk got to stick together.
3 (2.5 🤔) cathedrals & poor old Sun’lun only got one paltry Minster
Probably as well you’s didn’t get to Wembley with that level of alternative activities vying for your precious leisure time.

It's alright, we beat Sunderland to win City of Culture in 2021.

I don't know any neutrals that will be cheering us on and it's very understandable given our recent stink outs in the PL.

Sunderland, a bigger club, been away for a good while and the derbies with Newcastle that would draw a good audience.

For travelling fans, maybe Bramall Lane as an away day (lots of nearby pubs, likely to come away with 3 points etc) gives us an edge but that's heavily outweighed by the above.

Aye
But even then your final paragraph is equally applicable to Sun’lun

Can't really blame them tbh. All season we've been very flat just holding onto the 1 goal lead paired with last seasons misery.
Aye
But still scored more (& conceded less) than Sun’lun
We’ve won 1 -0 ten times; them seven
We’ve had one 0-0 them - five
Failed to score: us:- 7 occasions. Them:- 12

“very flat” vs very flat-erer
🤔

I think they probably do, not that it matters. Purely because they haven't been in the PL for years now, whereas we've been yo-yoing in and out for the past 6 years now.

Coventry fan here. Most of us want you to win tomorrow. The way Sunderland celebrated when they beat us way over the top. Plus I think most of us would be pleased to see Hamer and O’Hare promoted. And I think you deserve to go up given you finished so far ahead of the rest of the play off sides. I think you will win, Sunderland are not a good side.

From what I've read on SBT most of you think COH and Hamer are Judases! :)

Good luck tomorrow, Blades. If there is any justice you'll put an end to your playoff hoodoo and come and join us again for more irrational VAR decisions, hammerings at the hands of the Premier League elite and being last on MOTD. Don't worry, it only lasts for a season, then we can all enjoy the Championship again. 😉

Does everyone forget when we were a lot of people's second favourite for a while. During our rise from League One to staying in the Premier League we were the media, critics and neutrals darlings. Wilder was liked and admired by many. After we stank out the Premier League twice we lost that.

Personally I couldn't care less who neutrals support. The match only matters to Sheffield United and Sunderland fans.

Agree….we were initially liked by the neutrals in a little puppy dog kind of way.

Remember the coincidence how the after match comments from every set of away fans was they played their worse performance for several years against us
Because we were no longer this plucky hard working battling organised northern team.

We could go away to Spurs and Arsenal and have have spells of good possession where they couldn’t match us.
First half against Man Utd we played them off the park like we were Real Madrid, winning 2-0 at half-time but should have been 4-0 at half-time.
I even remember away at Pep’s Man City where we matched them regards good football with John Fleck looking like the best player on the pitch.

Agree…..last season even I felt embarrassed how we always folded after conceding….so many matches were over as a contest by half-time.
I didn’t really enjoy going because matches were like watching friendlies with nothing to play for.

That’s why I’m hoping we go up….because the media still don’t realise how unprepared we was last time selling our 2 best players a week before the season starts.
Even this seasons team is better than last season team and we haven’t even strengthened yet and who knows what the new owners will spend,
probably more than what people think. Wilder will have his mojo back next year and I wouldn’t be surprised if we stay up.
