Basham touches Lacazzettes foot, he throws himself in the air. Pen

Slightest touch or no touch Arsenal players dive free kick.

No crowd, no atmosphere.

Listening to Steve McManaman who is so biased to the big club rather than little old Sheffield!

Rules changed to 5 subs instantly favours the big clubs.

Lundstram injured further destroys the season.

I know it's a rant, but since the restart I have fallen out of love with a game I have watched for 45 years.

Wilder has done an amazing job, it's just sad to see the season end like this.

After the Newcastle game at the lane, I lost a lot of love for the game, especially the teams in this division who play the ref..

I don't hate football but regardless of how our season has gone I am really starting to hate being in the PL.

We now have to get better at the dark arts to stick around in the PL.

I am not knocking United. There were positive signs today.

It's more the over whelming bias financially and on the pitch to 6 teams.

VAR and the rule changes have made the game worse and cheating is an acceptable part of the game.

The phrase " he felt a touch so went down" sums it up.

Sorry Phil I can't agree, the whole thing is rigged. Even down to hoovering up young talent from other clubs.

We have been magnificent this season but the break has absolutely played into the hands of big clubs with bigger squads and strength in depth. We didn't vote for 5 subs which just plays into the hands of Chelski etc.

Rigged? Caveblade ? If so, it's financially rigged in United's favour. This season, Utd are receiving far more money than we ever have. We're receiving that money because the 6 get all the breaks. We have to let the 6 get all the breaks, if you like - we have to let it be rigged. That's where the money to buy our own ground comes from. That's where the money to buy Berge comes from. From the 6.
Don't for one minute think I want it to be like that. But, let's not be naive. Our financial future currently depends on the PL money, which depends on the continued success of the 6.

I hate the coverage.

I dont give a bollocks about all the wanking they did over our 'over-lapping centre backs' (Theres far more to our game than that btw, the majority of them are too fucking lazy to know that though) because every single one of them tipped us to go down. They had to back track quickly when they realised we weren't as shit as they all thought we were. Mind you they shouldnt have been that surprised if they'd bothered to do any research on us before the season started.

Did we even get a mention today? They werent interested in what happened in the game. Before we even got a mention in the post match analysis they'd already started having a general conversation about where Arsenal were and what they do next. This was fucking 5 minutes after the final whistle.

The FA/Sky/BT/BBC, see anyone other than the top 6 as an inconvenience and this is a culture that runs all the way through the game. It makes me sick when all these people who are complicit in their support for the utter bullshit that goes on, give their token messages of support to teams like Bury who are going to the wall.

I cant believe how much these people are paid to just spit out over used cliches. McManaman was at it today about how dangerous we are from set pieces because of how tall we are, we're smaller than the Arsenal back line for a start.

I dont care how any people we are broadcast to, the real quality coverage on us came when we were in the Championship from people like Colin Murray, Benjamin Bloom and the two guys on the NTT20 pod.

I think the biggest thing for me is the lack of fans/ atmosphere, and it seems obvious to me now is that the team feed off the crowd, whether that's being the party pooper with partizan away crowds or raising effort levels from the crowd at home, it seems that the crowd make the team run and work that yard quicker and jump an inch higher

If we'd beaten Villa, Newcastle, Man Utd and Arsenal would you be hating football?

Referees would still be the same.

To answer the simple direct question - No, I am not starting to hate football. These post season, lockdown, snot test friendlies won't impact on me at all. I decided early on that these Closed Doors games aren't for me. (And I'm not arguing that everyone should think that way, just not for me). I'll come back with renewed vigour once Football starts again in the future - with fans. Even before lockdown, I was in a simple happy place. If/when Utd won, or got a result, I was ecstatically happy. If they got beat, no worries, see you next week. tbh, I don't know how that happened, but it feels gooooood.

Don't disagree Phil, of all the years to be in the Prem this is the one. Anyone outside of it is financially in a very tight place.

It doesn't get away from the fact that even in the top flight 6 teams are still miles ahead financially because for the last 20 years the system has been tilted towards them. Man City joined the club because of very rich owners.

Even the rules on young players from academies are designed to benefit the big clubs whilst screwing over the small ones.

It clearly shows in who wins things. The fact that Leicester was such an amazing event just reaffirms that.

I don't like to make excuses and would rather despite I'll fortune if the team still manage to overcome it anyway.

That said...we've had some real shit come our way since the restart.

Against
1 unquestionable goal not given in a game that ended in stalemate.
1 red card after an incredibly soft first yellow in a game that was at stalemate before the sending off and ended in defeat.
1 harsh penalty conceded at the edge of the box through a player throwing themselves to the floor.
2 goals given by the referee both chalked off for marginal offsides. VAR also missed a foul on Fleck in the build up to the winning goal.

For
1 goal by Maguire where he went through the back of a United man in a one sided 3-0 defeat.

Given we were already sitting on -6 for VAR this season and notwithstanding the handball against Saints which was totally overlooked and the blatant foul by Söyüncü for Leicester's winner, you'd be forgiven for perhaps questioning how exactly this is going to 'even itself out' over the coming 7 matches.

i can only assume the remaining 7 teams will all get COVID-19 and we'll be playing this youth teams, registering 7 straight wins and romping home to European football!

referees don't help....same ref who today who was the VAR ref at Villa Park....say no more

I wonder how many players have been booked for simulation this season

following the foul given against Fleck (in the second half ) when he didn't touch the Arse-en-all player the ref began to not give their players automatic fouls as soon as they fell down, but he never got his card out .

first dissallowed goal , McBurnies header bounced off the Arsenal defenders head, ( doesn't that mean Lundy was plated-on)

Also Bash may have just clipped, right heel Lacazettes heel ( and if he did he just brushed it) Lacazette leapt in the air from his right leg, andf went down clutching his left shin ???

Tierney & whoever was on VAR were a complete joke,

It's pointless saying anything about the BT commentators ,

No, we can’t just dislike it because we’ve lost a few games. I disliked Adkins football.

Wilder is right though. We are too nice.

to answer the op .... yes

making me angry mix of us being poor, diving cheating big 6 bias and awful refereeing we need to be more street wise pains me to say it or as the pundits call it cute

UTB

It's not over yet Cave😉Plenty to suggest we won't fade away and we're not likely to see our next seven opponents have an extra man on the pitch.
I predicted finishing 14th so happy days. Think we'll better that.😎

This restart is really starting to piss me off.

There may or may not be a need for an inquisition into how the creativity and tempo has fallen off, but the fact that this side had been settled into a stable XI for so long, cannot be underestimated.

1. Villa - slow after the restart, far from in our stride, but so we're many teams. Should have won 1-0.

2. Newcastle - Egan red card and the game plan goes to shit. This, couple with VAR in the previous game and heads drop. Confidence is easy to knock and it can spread like wildfire.

3. Man U - a resurgent side against a patched up XI, low on confidence.

4. Arsenal - now this. Glimpses of promise back, the team trying to play, not at our previous levels but a bit back to where we were, or at least it's a step in the right direction - albeit improving on the first 3 isn't hard.

Maybe an inquisition isn't needed. Maybe the above accounts for it.

What I am starting to hate though is how in the first half of the season there appeared to be something most weeks that demonstrated our character and resilience, as with Billy's late equaliser at Bournemouth, for example.

Now, it feels as though there's something to go against us each week, I'm starting to watch for the sucker punch: Enda's miskick, VAR not reacting, Egan's pathetic first booking, switching off for the Arsenal second.

Still, all I cared about most from today was a glimmer of us trying to play, and a bit of character. I got a bit of the former and some of the latter in McGoldrick's equaliser. It has to turn around soon, maybe there's hope.
Keep the faith kozzy. We got spoiled before lockdown and maybe had a sense of false security but to go the entire season without setbacks would be Liverpool esque. I feel your pain but was great to see didz finally net. Look for more of those positives, despite having to play 12 men😉

I think the best thing about all this is that it gives pundits all the ammo to write us off again next season. I predict CW will be running out of wall space to pin up comments writing us off.

We’ll be reset and ready to go again hopefully with the possibility of having fans in BDTBL on the horizon.

We need to stop feeling sorry for ourselves and take that 2nd half performance into the Spurs game. For the first time since the restart I felt we were getting back to our usual performance levels which is a big positive.

Bring it on for me.

Premier League?........I can’t imagine being anywhere else now.

Honestly this type of 'football' - nah - I hated the bundesliga but I thought when United played it would be different as Im used to watching us on TV. However I hate it.

I don't have BT and today I went out with my kids all day and just checked the score at the end. To me it's like pre season friendlies. Cannot wait for real football.

What seem like untold wealth to us is pin money to the big 6
Yes we've spent 50m in transfers but how many players have we got on a million pounds a month. How many of our players have Bentleys with my other car is an Aston Martin sticker in it.
We can't match the wages Palace can offer never mind spurs or arsenal.. The players on Arsenals bench wages a month dwarfs our players yearly wages .
