According to Sky yesterday the 2m fee accepted but seen nothing since, watched the video got quick skilful feet for a FB.

Doesn’t sound too promising...

That’s one negative with our settled team, if Enda stays as first choice and doesn’t get injured then Robinson will be on the bench and only play in the cups.

He might look to go to a club where he’s got a better chance of being first choice.

But in the other hand, Wilder only wants players who want to play and will put the effort in to show why they should be playing. If the lads got the right attitude then he’ll back himself to perform and push his way in to the team.

If he was happy to come and sit on the bench we don’t want him!

if he’s come out and said that then we don’t want him. If he’s not willing to come and earn a spot just because AC Milan wanted him then it’s a no from me.

Agreed, we don’t want players happy to sit on their arse and pick up a wage. The problem is that the team isn’t rotated. If Enda is playing well, Robinson’s got no chance of playing. How can he prove himself when he’s sat on the bench?

Compared to Newcastle where Rose has returned to Spurs and they don’t have a first choice left back, it might be more attractive to have a much better chance of starting from day one.

You can never have enough Robinsons

Forgotten about that. Classic!

I was wondering actually what the most common surname we’ve had in the club at any one time?

3 Robinson’s would be a contender perhaps, although I think we also had 3 Quinn’s at the same time?

I was thinking of common names like “Smith” also, but I only remember us having two of them at the same time, Paul and Brian, aka “The Dangerous Brothers!”. That was plenty!😳

Jones? Shaw? We had multiples of them at the same time I think?

I bet someone out there knows the answer to this? SilentBlade no doubt?

About 30 hours ago on this very thread, people were convinced we'd signed this lad and were already congratulating Wilder et al for getting him (pages 7/8). Now we're reading that he's trying to incite a bidding war for his services.

I just don't understand jumping the gun during the window. Every transfer window seems like its the first time for a lot of people.

Bar Foderingham, we haven't signed anyone, but by reading the forum at various points you'd be forgiven for thinking we'd bought:

John Swift (he's going to be announced a week last Friday, I believe)
Matty Cash
Urgucan Cakir
Antonee Robinson

No, that doesn't sound promising.
More or less sounds like he's turned us down because he has to come in and compete with Enda.
That's a big shame, but doesn't speak to a great attitude. He wants to ensure that other clubs know he's available so that he can get a bigger / better offer.

Time to move on I think... the kid seems a bit big for his boots with that statement to be honest.

Enda has never had any decent competition since he’s been here (Daniel Lafferty, Marvin Johnson and Ben Osborn who’s naturally a CM). Because of that it’s been difficult to take him out the side if he’s had a bad run of games or needed a rest. That would change with Robinson here.

I know it’s frustrating - it’s only because we are getting excited though. I’ll bet thi we sign at least 2 of them in that list though. No smoke without a fiery bush in the hand being better than two birds, as they say.

Whether we sign him or not, I don't think wanting to be first choice can be remotely seen as a bad attitude.

If we were to sign him Wilder may have him down as first choice? No one knows.

He seemingly has a few options and if he opts to choose for one where he's signed with a place in the first team in mind then fair play. And whether that's us remains to be seen.

Not sure I can agree about attitude mate, the other way to look at it is that he wants first team football which I think is arguably a good quality and shows a positive attitude towards his career

You ain't just gonna walk into a team that has ambition and wants to do well, that's sort of the point. If he wants to improve and progress as a player he should welcome the opportunity to have genuine competition for his position, not like at AC Milan where Theo Hernandez would have kept him out the team every week, atleast here he would get given a real opportunity.

I'll be perfectly honest, I don't know a great deal about some of those players - I always try not to be one of those people of hears about a player for the first time when his club is linked with them, then has a paddy when the club ends up not signing them!

I'm also not blaming the club for not getting the business done in these scenarios, as I've said elsewhere we having nothing more than whispers and gossip to go on and it's entirely likely that there have been in the words of our second-tier dwelling West London friends, 'no bids' for any of them.

What I don't understand are a) the bullshit artists who make things up, especially those that can be disproved almost immediately ('Swift will probably be announced by the end of the week') and b) those who see some no-mark say on Twitter say we've had a bid accepted for someone, see a news story clearly based solely on said tweet, and conclude that we've definitely signed said player and offer backslaps and handshakes all around (earlier in this thread, for example).

Say you think it might be close by all means, there's no harm in having a guess! But acting like it's all done and dusted is just strange to me.

As I say, get those players, don't get those players, I don't mind. As long as we end up with a 'keeper who is someone other than Ramsdale it's alright by me.

I’m with you on that. I bet we could bin 90% of names in the rumour thread as rubbish. Has Frank Ribery signed yet?

We finished 9th in the Premier League, our modus operandi is improving players and punching above our weight. We play with wing backs. This kid is 21 and has had one great season in the Championship. This is a great opportunity for him.

He should be relishing the challenge of competing for a spot at a midtable Premier League club, not shying away because Enda Stevens is already here?

His statement didn't seem too appreciative of our offer either, more dismissive - whilst wanting to tout himself to anybody else.. it certainly doesn't seem like he's keen.

People, understandably, will interpret it differently - I personally (& if I was Wilder) wouldn't like that message & would be moving on. Doesn't seem like a winners attitude.

' Just in from a colleague' ? Doris the cleaner ? dont rely on this prick to slit your wrists.

Well I read that as he would want to come here and fight to be 1st choice, not that he wouldn't want to come here because he won't be 1st choice.

Why is everyone get their knickers in a twist? He's said pretty much nothing there.

I want to play at the highest level and not sit on a bench. Fair enough.

There are bids in for me. Let's see what happens.

Enda was excellent before lockdown but abysmal after the restart - Chelsea apart. We do need competition in that position.
