Outgoing? Anel

Not fussed about Anel leaving especially if we make good profit on him. Would rather we be ran like this with a suitable replacement lined up/allocated to a different position. If it meant we could get a left footed CB to partner Souttar and a Left winger or striker then this is good business for me. We all knew we’d have to sell 2 out of Souza, Anel and Hamer but I think the Osula money has helped make it only 1 sale

I am so glad some of our so called supporters are not in charge in charge of recruitment/sales.

Some of you clearly know absolutely nothing about football, do you really think a Premier league team would come in and pay a premium if he was sh*te.

One bad season does not define him as a player.
We were a Premier League team last season and paid a premium for some right garbage.

And therefore one good season shouldn’t?

So you either moan at the club/board or moan at the fans? Bet you're a barrel of laughs.

I would be happy for us to move Anel on. When he first signed, I was sure he was going to the very top. However, since his illness he's been a shadow of that player. If we can make a decent profit before his stock falls too much, his purchase and sale will represent an excellent bit of financial business for the club - thank you, Jack Lester.

Money/attitude questions aside, I won't be sad to see the end of his heart-stopping grappling any time he is marking someone in the box. He reminds me of a new-born orangutan, driven instinctively to find his mother's belly hair and cling on for dear life.

I will praise the club when they have done things right like I already have.

We have made some excellent transfers so far I just don't want us to make the same old mistakes.

If you gave me a choice of losing 1 of Anel, Hamer, Arblaster or Vini Souza, I would go for Anel every time.
He was amazing in his first season for us but I always got the impression that he thought he was better than the club and saw us as a stepping stone.
He was found out a little bit last season (as was most of the team to be honest) against better teams where he had to defend more with little opportunity to get forward and showed a tendency to make some rash challenges after finding himself out of position/chasing the defender.
If he goes to Ipswich, he will be in a similar position to last season.
Is he replaceable? Yes. Potentially, we have the replacement already in the club (Souttar/Gilchrist - albeit temporary solutions as loans) or we could look to bring in someone like Mepham at around 30-50% of what we would hope to receive.
Keeping the 3 others would be much better for the club moving forward.
6 goals, 2 assists but 12 yellows.

That was his first season and perfectly illustrates his plus and minus points.

In the current system he’s going to be doing more of the stuff that attracted 12 yellows and less of the stuff that got him 6 goals.

So if we can max his value with two years to go and get someone who is a good defender then great.

But the two need to go together.

Ok but I just don't see how anyone can be unhappy with selling Anel for 15m+? though.

He obviously doesn't want to be here
His performances have been shite
Massive profit on his sale
It enables us to sign 2/3 decent players
He's replaceable

🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

Problem is, if it comes late in the window, might not be able to replace him until JTW.

I rate him as a footballer and he can probably still improve. That said, he's still a moody petulant cunt so I'll be happy to see the back of him if the rumoured fees are anything like accurate.

You mean like us when we were in the PL??

Surely a PL wouldn't offer a perennial crock like Tom Davies a 3 year contract if? Or pay £4 for Benni Traore.....

Great business for who? certainly isn't for us the fans how did the sales of Ndiaye and Berge help exactly?

Oh yeah they didn't the only person these sales benefit is the owner.
Ah so you think Prince is selling Anel and running off with 15m just before the takeover goes through?

£15 million, On top of the 16.5 million for Jebbo and Osula, Bogle £5 million and £3 million for Benie. (Rumoured) Circa £40 million raised in transfers not to mention sell ons. Power of the premier league even if we got spanked most weeks. Not bad that.

Not fussed on Anel leaving because I want Souttar in anyway and as I've said a few times.....I always thought Souttar was coming into play and that could only be at Anels expense which would only make sense if Anel was to get sold/expected he would be sold.

All the best to Anel but I'd drive him there myself, although second thoughts he can get there on his own merit; Ipswich is too far and the road network crap once you're in farmers country.

mepham would do for me and it could be possible wilders wants him more than worrall souttar and mepham would be a very strong centre back partnership for the championship

Not worried about this one if 15m means we keep souza ,I think this lad will rip up the championship this season (you can tell hes enjoying his football now)
The thing I don't understand is we don't seem to be looking into Europe for players
Due to ongoing health issues ( getting better before anyone asks) boredom !! there's actually some cracking players in the slavic leagues especially centre halves
And yes I know wilder doesn't sign foreigners

Why so serious son ?

These sales didn’t benefit the club then? Because of course the club generates enough money to run itself doesn’t it 🙄
….. or does the belief that the prince is lining his pockets just suit your theory?

I much like Mrs Fallowfield am a huge fan of Anel he was key to the last promotion push and is our best CB that we actually own

One thing is for sure is it will be a sore one if he does leave

However, take the 10/15 mill and find the next two Anels in European leagues it's what the good teams do

But he never showed it with us in The Premier League as he hardly played. I agree that it was obvious he was class though. Some still seem to think he's shit for some reason
Spurs at home when he scored being one off the top of my head. Agree that games in the prem for us were few and far between though due to injury, but looked every bit a premier league player from as soon as he signed imo.

Never understood the flack he got. He didn’t set his transfer fee. Sadly though, some of our fans just don’t recognise quality when they see it. They’re stuck in the past where running round aimlessly takes precedence over things like, you know, being able to pass to your teammates 😂. Cant help but think if he was an academy lad they would be swimming in their own jizz over him.
