Surprised Bosnia have agreed to play them, didn't think they had any Russian leniencies. Would not have been surprised to see Serbia, Belarus, Lithuania, the Central Asian 'Stans etc...
Its an awkward one for me this. The Russian public seem clearly against everything the nutter in charge is doing. He doesn't care either. Be nice for them to just get back to what they want to be doing. Certainly not their fault the current situation.

Do they seem against it? When the media is state controlled you see what your supposed to see and same goes for us but there seems to be a lot of support for the actions in Ukraine, when the truth starts to filter back via soldiers and the finances squeeze at home then I’d be inclined to agree but at the minute the majority seem to be pro war or so it seems?

That's a fair point. We have seen images of anti war protests in the media from Russia but to be fair there is always some of those regardless of who's at war and we have heard stories of soldiers not wanting to fight or even refusing but as you say, that's through state controlled media and it could be total bollocks.

With that being said people who I know that have been to Russia have all commented on how nice the people are so perhaps I like the idea that it's their government screwing them over in the world view but there's a lot of history there I guess and some will of course be in favour of the invasions.

The last survey I saw showed that 70 odd percent of the Russian population were strongly for the war. Obviously, living in a totalitarian state, you would have to take this with a pinch of salt, but the majority of the Russian people are at least compliant if not complicit.

In all fairness anything that comes from that country I will never believe and after watching how pro Ukraine our media are I don't believe their words either.

Let's be honest, if they ever draw a peaceful solution the soldiers and Russian people could be in a situation where they need to get the West back on side. Even if they were all for it the soldiers will tell us they were dead against it anyway.

It could be down to money image that Russia will be offering very good cash incentives to play their football team

Of all of them, I thought Lithuania was the most Russian leaning. With a huge proportion of the population still identifying as Russian.

It just wouldn't have surprised me if someone within the Lithuanian FA wanted to keep on good terms with Russia and agreed to a friendly, as opposed to Bosnia.

But on reflection, you might be right.
I think Estonia was the one with the largest Russian minority, and when they passed an Estonian language test to gain citizenship after independence it ramped up the aggravation (especially as Estonian is a 🐖 of a language and not related to Russian)

From my time in Lithuania, I found they had a greater antagonism against Belarusia (though I was close to the that border)

Well the "baker of Bosnia" doesn't have the same ring to it

Not the best term to use. The man called the butcher of Bosnia is currently imprisoned as a genocidal war criminal.
And the candlestick maker of Bosnia is currently doing community service for hate crimes against the transgender community (possibly)

Hey ho kick em in the bollocks hey ho kick em in the head .... oh the memories... proper football days!

Do they seem against it? When the media is state controlled you see what your supposed to see and same goes for us but there seems to be a lot of support for Brexit, when the truth starts to filter back via business and the finances squeeze at home then I’d be inclined to agree but at the minute the majority seem to be pro Brexit or so it seems?
I saw a few parallels here :)
