He reminds me a lot of John Stones at his peak some six years ago when City paid 47.5 million plus add ons for him , apart from the fact that he was not as good then as our lad is now .

Fair points but by ‘recent times’ I was thinking more of the last two years or so when prices for defenders seem to have sky rocketed . ( e.g. Ben White - £52 million , over 17 times the cost of AA )

In a game where everything is analysed to the finest detail it's a line-breaker from deep who can cause the most problems. Who picks Ahmedhodzic up when he marauds forward? Who else becomes spare as a result? How do we exploit that moment of uncertainty exactly as we did last night for the second? It's genuinely gamechanging for us.
