He'd start every game for us

At Leeds he'd have Rodon, Ampadu and Struijk in his way

Might come down to the biggest loan fee

Our advantage would be more guaranteed gametime. Can't imagine either Rodon or Struijk will be happy on the bench.

Which Forest won’t give a shit about?
It makes no sense if Leeds are in for him and offering any purchase option he goes there.

I don't even think that - i think Forest will push him towards Leeds because they'll buy after the loan, and for FFP/PSR will want the cash

He’s only 22, so Forest might think he’s still got a long term future with them.

It’s not like his value is going to nosedive after a half season loan so they could still choose to sell him at the end of the season.

The option to keep him instead of an obligation to sell might be a better option for Forest.

Seems to blow hot and cold on accuracy

His value will rise with games played. It won’t bring a sub at Leeds. Even if we don’t offer an obligation to buy we will raise his stock. I am sure MGW can have a word too

More likely mischievous from Leeds again to delay this until the end of the transfer window (3rd Feb) as they know we are desperate so if this means we left in limbo for another 4 matches that will be good for them. I know Farke had him before - but I can’t see he would be a priority for them & no way he’d be near their starting 11.

100% shithousery from Leeds, we all know he wouldn’t start as many games at leeds, but that’s the point.

If he won't start for Leeds why would we want him?

For what it's worth I think he would definitely start for Leeds. Would be great pairing at this level with Rodon

Because, unfortunately their CB pairing is stronger than ours.

It is now with Soutter out. I was more questioning why people thought he won't get in at Leeds and if he doesn't we should be looking at better.

Sizablade I think the challenge is there aren’t any better/realistic CB options to go at. The only other 2 I can think of are Wily Boly or Adam Webster, but I imagine wages would be issue and both are solid back up players for their clubs.

Souttar is a massive miss, it wasn’t that he was just dominant in the air (81% headers won) he also had a very good passing game.

Struijk missed the game yesterday with an ankle injury also Spurs are interested in him....Leeds looked less strong in defence with him missing.

So the Farke interest in Omobamidele might have more pulling power.

And besides you know how we shorten players names.......we could be reffering to Omo and Anel as the two central defenders.

Yeah it is a tough one. I've said in another thread I like the Boly shout. We won't replace Souttar like for like but that big physical type would be great. Think cb should now become priority no 1 for this window. We certainly had the don't concede don't lose mantra. Start of the season it felt so comfortable when we scored that we wouldn't concead.

We'll see but whoever it is needs to be ready to go straight in so probably not a foreign signing and one that knows the league.

yeah thought we might bring a right back in and move gilchrist to cb but looking at last 3 or 4 games we definetly need a big physical cb to come in boly would be the one for me if we could get him think gilchrist and seriki will be enough for right back spot

A player many are sleeping on is Charlie Hughes this lad needs to be looked at. Hull City centre back only 21 though so inexperienced but statistically if you’re looking for a good Souttar fit he’s the one.

Similar aerials won 75% to 81%, a better pass completion rate overall 86% to Souttars 85%, he offers slightly more when it comes to progressing passing 60 to 56 in 6 fewer games. The only stat that has a large difference is tackle percentage won 50% to Souttars 58%.

He was great for Wigan in L1.
Shame we couldn't afford him for a reasonable fee (£3/4m) in the Summer.

Surely the scouting team will be looking at all these and hopefully some hidden gems we aren't aware of. However cb now for me is the main priority. But saying that I'd like to see a min of 4 come in. Squad is a little thread bare. With not enough time to rest. 4 more players coupled with some of the injured ones back. Gives the team competition, able to squad rotate therfore making us stronger.
