I was a bit disappointed he wasn't. Normally around the squad. Guess this means he's going out on loan, which I think is a good thing. Would prefer no obligation to buy type deal.

He'll be one of those players we can slap newly promoted tax on if you go up with him in your side. They all seem to be £20m. (Delap, Hutchinson, Archer, Trafford Muric etc).

Agree it’s the same every year….the best players and Premier league clubs hold the power so we have no option but to remain patient
but at least we’ll already have our plan B targets lined up…..ready to go.
Also it helps strengthen our negotiations when we know we have other options, just in case a club or player gets greedy.

We’ve got Brereton in, we’ve had a bid accepted for Cannon, Wilder having mentioned him, I think.

Wilder has also spoken publicly about Choudhury and Shea Charles… he doesn’t normally do that if we’re not close to deals being done.

Like most people we don’t know who these number one targets were / are…

But it seems clear when Wilder is name dropping players in press conferences then it’s fairly clear that we’re close to bringing a few more in… and seems unlikely that many will be last min deals
