All good points.

If we needed to raise funds, Hamer should've been out the door, Brooks had two years left, Hamer has one.
352 hasn't worked for a while, it'd be peak insanity to go back to a formation that's utter tripe.
Sounds like they can’t get anyone to take Hamer. He was in Turkey a couple of weeks ago and couldn’t find a club willing to pay his wages.

No money is owed to the prince.
COH Sports purchased Sheffield United (including Blades Leisure Ltd, the SUFC Women's team, SUFC Hotel Ltd, and all associated real estate) from Prince Abdullah's United World Group in December 2024 for an agreed deal worth £105 million.

COH Sports is paying for Sheffield United in installments, and the structured payment schedule has led to notable friction between the new owners and United

When the £105 million takeover was approved, the deal was finalised upon the completion of a first installment, with the remaining balance divided into a series of subsequent repayments. COH Sports originally paid an initial block of roughly £30-£40 million to secure the club's controlling stakes. Roughly half of the total agreed purchase price was deferred into scheduled upcoming months.

A dispute over a deferred £10 million pound payment escalated when Prince Abdullahs legal representatives issued a statutory demand.. While that specific £10 million payment was ultimately paid, it revealed that multiple structural payments remain active.

As a result of these installment pressures, COH Sports has transitioned its parent company into 1919 Partners LLC to aggressively seek outside minority capital. They are currently looking to sell up to a 20% stake in the club to help fund operational costs and potentially renegotiate the remaining repayment schedules with United World.

Overrated player, good but not great. Older than most think. £8m is a good fee. The problem is it adds to the list of players we need to add. GLTTL

Hang on that doesn't really make sense, how much are we talking is still owed? Can't be much surely.
No idea pal but in the report where Sky Sports said the Prince threatened us with Administration or also said he was still owed almost half the takeover price in December.

Both chong and harmer or chong and brooks or all 3 😂

I was just replying to the post about someone would rsther we keep brooks & sell hamer.

Im all for it, if it means we can bring in two wingers either side that improve us and keep hamer (moved centrally). Although in disappointed regards the rumoured fee & to a direct divisional rival.
I meant we will also sell Hamer.

We don't have 40m of parachute payments. I'm sure more financially astute folk than me can spell it out, but if he's gone for 8m, then at best we might have negotiated 4m up front (if we're lucky) and perhaps save a million on wages. If we want the full 8m, then we'll be onto the blower with Macquarie.

So that's 9m minus interest to Macq from the 40m.

We then get 5m for Hamer and save 2m in wages. Maybe for a lower fee we insist on it all up front or call our Australian Banker friends again.

So we're now at -24m to find.

We released a number of players and will have saved those wages.

It all then depends how much the owners are prepared to stump up. If it's not a lot then expect Peck to be off too. Maybe we get 10m for him, get 5m up front and save 1m in wages, so we bring it down to 18m minus the prior savings on wages and then owners need to stump up 10-15m depending on how the other ins and outs go.

This is the cost of not going up and also the prior summer shenanigans.

It's a shame we won't see Seriki and Brooks' excellent partnership continue down that right hand side.

Our results (all games) with and without the pair of Seriki and Brooks starting last season:

1782406307643.webp

What if those numbers were also transferable to a full league season?
  • Both starting: 55% wins and 18% draws - 1,84 points per game. 85 points. Automatic promotion.
  • Both not starting: 23% wins and 8% draws - 0,77 points per game. 35 points. Relegation.

And I thought looking at the cricket score was depressing...

I cannot believe we payed more for Tom Canno(t)n than we sold Brooks!

That's an even bigger disgrace!
How is this good business?
We got shafted on both fronts there.

Brooks has been undervalued by at least £5m and Cannon was overvalued by the same amount.

Why does this kind of sh*t only ever seem to happen to us.

You've got to be kidding, surely?

The 'money men' at this club are scared shitless of Wilder and any risk of upsetting him. I'd of thought that nothing happens without his say so, transfer wise or coaching set up wise.

We'll see in the next few weeks though.

utb
The same blokes that sacked him once already? A bizarre reading of the situation.

Heard it all before. Save your reactions to selling Ndiaye and Berge for the end of the window. Beattie, end of the window. Naughton and Walker, save it for the end of the window. No I don't think I will.

All evidence points to us being worse off when we sell our best players. Every single time.

The previous "Brooks" we sold, isn't he still our record transfer fee received?

I think Andre might be a shade better... maybe, but that is just my opinion. But bare in mind nearly a decade has gone since we sold David Brooks and footballer valuation has mostly gone up (See Tom Cannon for more details) yet we get a measly £9 mill from a Chump team. Hmmm...

He won’t though.

Bochum WhatsApp is a fucking disgrace, ringleaders are all out giving the wilderettes their talking points.

CW loved to talk about how 'he' connected the club. He was when we won but quit on his team at Wembley and every time we lost. Straight down the tunnel.

He doesn't connect us any longer. Some of us 'punters' expect better from the manager 'of the football club'.

Being stuck with him isn't the same.

Not by a long way.

Fuck this.

I don't believe for a second that we're receiving a suitable fee for him, from a Championship team. A rival, no less.

He may not be the finished article but he was starting to look the real deal on his good days. Young, English passport, ability to do all the things a Prem winger needs to be able to do... Get him sold to first club that bids (reality unknown).

Embarrassed to even tell my 7yr old about this. I guess I'll have to say "maybe he always wanted to live in Norwich".

How can we alienate even more fans? Sell Brooks to someone like Norwich? Cool let's do it.
