I expected us to stagnate, I didn't expect us to be in with a shout of promotion, barring some surprising spending and ambition...but losing our most promising youngster and a key attacking player to Norwich for Fucks Sake... Should we be worried? Just how fast are we falling??

£8m initial fee it's been reported. Sad to see him go, but it's a decent fee for an exciting (yet inconsistent) winger. If he has fallen out with Wilder and wants to leave us for f*cking Norwich, then we have to take the money and reinvest it. Hopefully it means we can retain Peck for another year, although knowing us, we'll sell him on deadline day!
Easy to read too much into things but Peck's instagram message says "achieve the goals we always spoke about". Hope Brooks doesn't see him achieving more with Norwich than with us...

Yep. If we can get someone with more of an output than that it's not a bad move for us fee depending.

That's the difficult bit

Daft that we didn't go back in for JRS last season.

Last season with 2 different clubs. 9 goals 1 assist.

Season before with us 7 goals 2 assists.

A year older than Brooks.

News from two Norwich colleagues is a maximum £9 million package.

How much is up front and how true the figure actually is...I can't give much credibility to either other than one does have genuine links to the club. It is on the community side though.

That with a sell on?

It anyone is genuinely thinking this has nothing to do with Wilder they want their bumps feelin'. Words for absolutely everyone in his goodbye message apart from the manager.

When you're treated like shit for so long, there's no wonder you want to get out of the club. No doubt at all Femi goes next.

What is the fee? That word significant doesn't mean what SUFC (or, for that matter, most of the forum) thinks it means. Offloading the attacking player with the most potential for fuck all IN A LATERAL MOVE basically says we are mailing the season in. What we might do in other personnel decisions is irrelevant. At least unlike when we sold Ndiaye we didn't wait until the eve of the season to surrender, and at least unlike we sold Ndiaye I haven't renewed my season ticket so I'm not paying for meaningless games
I didn't renew either. Been giving my ticket away for night matches and now I'm retired I want more weekends away. Very underwhelmed last 2 seasons so no regrets. I will pick some games to attend, senior prices shouldn't be too bad.

Stings, especially to sell him to Norwich, a club I assumed we were going to be competing with. Real shame won't see him realise his full potential with us.

Beat me to it, I asked a Norwich mate and he sent something that said 8 million and further million up front

Where he got it from I don’t know tbh

This is mainly because of our or should I say the boards failure last season when they were taken for a ride by the poker/ai guy and this is the price we have to pay, we said the poor actions of our board would set us back up to 5 years and this is coming true, I’m hoping for consolidation in this division this season when the big wages players are gone at the end of next season Hamer, Bamford etc then I’m thinking we’ll end up with rejects from the championship signing it really will be that bad as the signs are already here!
We already end up with championship rejects because the dinosaur who is managing the club won’t step into the modern day

Not surprised that he thinks he'll achieve more with Norwich than us. Think Norwich will do well next season, great second half of the season and seem to be splashing the cash. He's probably fallen out with Wilder and CW was happy for him to go.

Well, that's justified me not renewing my ST even more now.

"Sheffield Un-United" more like it. How does our club represent the city? Only by the name.

Ambitions eh? It's only Norwich not Newcastle. My ambition to have been a Blade coming through the system would be to do the best for the team that you love, no? Not go to a rival, that is no better than United. I appreciate there may be other factors at play though.

I really can't believe how many people are hurt by this.

Decent fee for an inconsistent winger.

As always the reactions should be reserved for end of the window.
Heard it all before. Save your reactions to selling Ndiaye and Berge for the end of the window. Beattie, end of the window. Naughton and Walker, save it for the end of the window. No I don't think I will.

All evidence points to us being worse off when we sell our best players. Every single time.

I was told earlier this year there was a lot of Spanish interest seemingly never developed more than that

I can only think Brooks was refusing to extend. But even so, he’s a player on the cusp of being a serious proposition with a value only Prem teams could touch. Yet he’s gone to a team on a par with us financially.

Whatever the reason, this is a shock move where it’s hard to see any up side at all.
I think you will find they are ahead of us financially, 😥 sadly

I expected Hamer and/or Peck/Brookes to go this summer.

Hoped someone would stump up £30m for Grbic and Shackleton, but that hasn't happened yet.

Really disappointing start to the season already.

What I don't get is not the selling but who we sold him to: Norwich for crying out loud!!!

Forget the $20m that has been thrown around, Norwich won't have that kind of money to spend plus there is no way Brooks is going to progress playing for Norwich.

So, whats the REAL story behind this sale?

Gutted. He's full of potential. Very sad to see him go.
The deal must have been right for him though.
In one respect it looks a backward step for the club. But it's what we usually do. Sell good prospects so nothing new.
Wilder has said there will be a few leavers.
Hopefully it frees up money to bring in the likes of Philips on a loan. Who ,I know we have little chance of affording to buy, but he does have something Brookes doesn't have, and that is experience. Also depending on what we get for him, it could possibly mean money to bring in Souttar. If course I'm guessing here but you never know.
We definitely need the defence shoring up.
There will be more to go so it's a case of wait and see. I expect Hamer will go and quite possibly Peck.
It's the Blades way.
