I can only think Brooks was refusing to extend. But even so, he’s a player on the cusp of being a serious proposition with a value only Prem teams could touch. Yet he’s gone to a team on a par with us financially.

Whatever the reason, this is a shock move where it’s hard to see any up side at all.

Agreed, I think we forget how inconsistent he was last year and he had been given a lot of game time.
