Be good when we're on the up again so we can debate about football again instead of the current crap

It is a bit crap, then again, it's been a bit crap for a while. But it would be good to step away from the "we need to spend, spend, spend NOW and have immediate success" debate.

Maybe.

Adkins said we have made some "six figure" bids for players, but could not get the deal done. I assume that these "six figures" could now be used to pay towards the wages of loan players?

I assume these "six figure" bids included pence? £1000.00 isn't going to get much these days. I bet SwissBlade pays more than that for tyres. :D

We hoot and toot but we still keep going
Lane Ender, fully agree, Once a Blade always a Blade.

I moved to the Cambridge area in the late 80s and thought I'd go and watch Cambridge United play with a few of my colleagues, have you ever tried to watch another team play.... you can't.

I moved to the US in the late 90s and every business trip back to the UK was based on seeing three games in that week. Now I'm back in the US and have to travel every other week from Oxford to see them... even if I wanted to stop, and believe me, this year has been hard, I can't

Has anyone else tried watching another team on a regular basis?

Back in UK... sorry

joking apart when I was at school a lad called Dawson turned up in football boots.

Vintage 1955 here. My grandfather was 19th Century stock and was almost 10 before he got a pair of shoes/boots - before that he had to boot black his bare feet which wasn't uncommon in those days. I blame MacMillan for turning us soft :p

Fortunately not.

A few years ago I was taken as a guest to Walsall v some other peasants. I was like a 7 year old kid and bored after 5 minutes. There's only so many times you can read the programme and try and make rude words from the advertising hoardings.

If i didnt watch the Blades that would be me done with football my attention span watching other clubs on the box is 10 minutes maximum.

No matter how often this is repeated - I don't believe it at all.

Was it luck that got them back from three down at Wigan the Tuesday after Old Trafford - while some of the fans were chanting: "We're fucking shit."

The players have my support. Those fans absolutely do not.

I would tell you what a great post that was, praise you for taking the good fight, and ask you for some excellent advice about how to put a finger in each ear and shout la la la la la to ignore whatever is concerning you, but i can't, and that my friend is a crying a shame.

If it wasn't for the ignore button I'm sure we could be the very best of friends, and have each other to rely on as we encounter the great tribulations like with each other watching each others back, but we can't, and that makes me want to have a little cry.

Not regularly but I used to go to the odd Spurs game with a couple of Spurs supporting mates (who also come to occasion Blades games with me).

It's not the same, it feels a bit like cheating on your wife. I'd join in with the odd song so I didn't stand out but, as they sing a lot of our songs, I'd just slip our words in occasionally.
I haven't been for probably three years now, maybe more, and I'm not bothered, it's not my team. I was happy when they won, for my mates, and I felt a little sorry for them when they lost but I didn't really care, never been like losing with the Blades, when you're gutted coming out of the game.
