Also all due respect but don’t think there is much difference between the tempo in the championship and the Belgian pro league.
I can’t say I watch loads of the pro league but outside of the top teams the championship is still very attritional percentage football lots of kick and rush hoof stuff on show. Also all due respect but don’t think there is much difference between the tempo in the championship and the Belgian pro league.
He mentions precisely that about the Championship in the clip postedI can’t say I watch loads of the pro league but outside of the top teams the championship is still very attritional percentage football lots of kick and rush hoof stuff on show.
I think the Championship is more direct but the closing down and pressing in the Premier League is on a completely different level. Players in the Championship could have more time on the ball, most just don't want it.Sander Berge acknowledged there were significant differences between tempo between PL & his time at Genk. That’s where I got the impression on tempo. I’d argue the Championship is more direct than the PL with even less time to put your foot on the ball.

Sander explains why playing for United is tougher than you think
The midfielder has been getting to grips with Europe's toughest league since moving from Belgium side Genkwww.examinerlive.co.uk
Great stuff, cheers.I suggested Blessin some weeks ago in another thread here. He is the best manager in the Belgian league at the moment. Oostende just escaped relegation last season and with a bunch of unknown and unproven players Blessin has created a miracle. They are the most attractive team to watch and play a very energetic high press game that has impressed everyone here in Belgium. His assistant is a former NFL physical coach and the summer preparation was quite special in terms of physical preparation but they out run all other teams now. Best appointment you can make.
Had you heard of Nagelsman/Hassenhutl etc?Top tier manager haha. So the bar is really so low that we shouldn't expect more than a complete unknown rookie manager? Makes no fucking difference who I'd have does it. Why on earth would we take such a huge gamble and appoint someone who's managed about 40 games in his life?

Definitely valid questions but ones that would be asked of any foreign manager regardless of their experience. I'd argue that going from Liepzig in Germany to Oostende in Belgium was a complete rebuild of culture and personnel in a new country. Granted the pressure won't be as high as it might be at United but he's still taken a very poor Oostende side from a very poor finish to a chance at a Champions League spot. All while spending very little money and working with a relatively young squad. Plus he's also working with Jack Hendry who may or may not be a target for us next season which may give us an advantage with a potential signing. It’s a huge job. A complete rebuild of culture and personnel, with pressure from the off, in a new country. What was his job at Oostend? Does he know how to build a side capable of winning a promotion? All valid questions IMHO.
Not sure why we would go for him ? He Has no experience in the championship and the Belgian league is the equivalent of the Dutch vanarama conference north ?
Alex Neil is out of a job and Gary Johnson is doing well with Sunderland both experienced talented young British managers
Doubt prince/van winkel would for them as there not Belgian and yes men![]()

Of the managers we've been linked with, him and Jokanovic are the two that excite me the most. I agree with some on here who believe it would be a gamble but one I think may be worth taking.

And at least 16 mountain goatsI think there's about 127 managers I'd prefer to Alex Neil and Lee Johnson
Likes his set pieces. Not too bothered about fancy build up. Hoofwaffe.
I'm in.
Managers who know the championship so well they can't get out of it.
I agree, as long as none of them are boozers and don’t rant on about geese when they’re pissed1: Jokanovic
2: Blessin
3: Pereira
Those would be my 3 top choices in that order
