He played 11 games last season so the drama queens predicting a sale first aren't really justified

I doubt we'd bring him in on his salary to not play him and the roles he plays are already occupied?

As for the lack of game time, all the more reason not to sign him.

Imagine him and Tom Davies laid out in our treatment room drawing about £60-70k a week out of the club.

There has to be better alternatives with next season in mind also.

30 wasn’t it, or are you totalling minutes over those games?

Edit: No it was 1424 minutes which would be just shy of 16 games, assuming 90 mins per game.

Be a very weird move and would likely mean one of Hamer or Souza is leaving.
Not sure how he fits into what we're doing otherwise.

I kind of hope this is wrong. It's a very expensive loan deal when we could probably bring in someone like Kenny McLean or Matt Grimes (rumoured earlier in the window) on a permanent deal and at least have the position covered next season.
What happens if we got promoted would either of those two be good enough for the Premiership ? or would we be stuck with them, at least we could send him back at the end of the season if we did get promoted.

We cooking, holy shit this is a statement and a half

It's the type of signing an ambitious new owner would do.

They always make a statement appointment of a big name manager (a Rooney, Lampard or Gerrard) or bring in a big name international player.

That's the spirit
You ever thought about doing motivational speaking. ?

Lot of money in that shit

Flashscore does have it as 20 involvements

This seems like such a waste of what would likely be a big chunk of our wage budget. We could get someone in much younger, with a far better injury record, for far less wages.

Makes no sense to me for us to go chasing him, when we could easily find a more rational option.

I'm not usually one for moves like this but I'm feeling this one. The new system needs depth as definitely seem to be playing a 4-2-3-1 when on the front foot. An injury to either Hamer or O'Hare would hugely effect our capability to play that formation. Ox would be worth the money imo

I recon this is a move by the new owners and a sign that the sale is very very close.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean it's a good one. We could easily go to one of the big Prem sides and get one of their youth prospects for a fraction of what he'd cost in wages.

Nico O'Reilly (Man City) & Kaide Gordon (Liverpool) are 2 straight off the top of my head that have not been loaned out yet and would likely fill a role in our squad. Instead we're allegedly chasing a lad whose career in England fell apart so badly he had to go to the opposite end of the continent to find a club.

Not sure how I feel about this signings but reports suggest they are just looking to get him off the wage bill so probably no loan fee and wages roughly 2 million. Compare with sakyi who is a 7 figure loan fee, plus 100% wages plus extra wages. Probably not much difference between the two options financially.

If Brooks, O'Hare or Hamer got injured/suspended then Wilder can push Arblaster or Burrows further up to replace them, so Ox could fill in there as an example. Or maybe Vini still wants gone and Ox is being lined up to replace him.

Erm apart from the fact that he is way better than anyone we could get on loan.

The feller's won the Champion's League, Premier League, FA Cups, played in tournaments for England and scored against Brazil in the Maracana.... he's sheer class.

Even if he was to be a shadow of what he once was, imagine the effect he can have on Arblaster, Brooks and Peck. And think of when we have had real class here at the end of their career- Cowans, McGrath, McCall, Speed- they've all shone out and inspired the younger players around them. Get it done! (Watch him be shit and be a massive piss/cokehead and lead them all astray after that build up)

I think an offer of 20k plus a good appearance /promotion bonus ,the lad has a lot to bring but needs to build his fitness reputation back up

Would love him to recapture his best form for us, phenomenal talent. But he’s just not going to be fit is he.

Just find this bizarre with our recent injury record, not to mention the catastrophe of the Tom Davies. He so much as farts near our death trap of a training ground he’ll be out for 3 months.

I mean let’s be honest, he’s a straight Gus Hamer back up, but it’s irrelevant cus he’ll hardly be available.

Just don’t get this one, must be an incredibly appearance weighted offer for it to make any sense whatsoever

Pros and cons of this-

Pros- If we are playing this high press, high energy system we need depth in the squad to fill the bench with quality, players to give an hour and then replaced.
Regular switch ups, team changes and so on will be crucial to keep players on the pitch and out the treatment room.
Adding players like Ox with the quality he has ticks that box.
I dont think he comes in and replaces anyone, I think he’s there to be part of a squad and used like the rest as needed.

Cons-
Cost
Age
Injury record

Do I think this one likely- no, I think this is agent talk to try and drum up interest knowing the level he’s really aiming at now. We are one of three or four in the champ he’d realistically be looking at. So think this is just someone using us to try and geain interest in his client
