i really hope this one is all smoke and Mirrors with no substance, really is a player that should be playing in more relaxing arena of either America or Saudi league, not the twice a week championship and not with the injury record he has, but also Wilder loves a project.. Morrison, Rodwell and the like so might be something he wants to do to try once again to get a tune from a partially broken fiddle?

This could be happening. Can't say I'm excited about another player on the physio's table. I get the experience thing but.......give us Choudhary, forget AOC

Deal is closer. Wilder said few players are lined up after the game.

If Wilder thinks this is what we need! Burnley have bought Ashley Barnes and have Shelvey training with them.

A 31 year old, CL winner who has been to a World Cup and a Euros with England, over 200 combined appearances for Arsenal and Liverpool and people are turning their nose up?

We arent going to offer him £150k a week are we, if managed properly he would be an incredible asset.

He would be the "token" owners purchase that was bandied about not so long ago but I cant see it either. Doesnt seem like one Wilder would want.

I think it's his injury record that is putting people off, to be honest.

I completely understand that and no one can deny it would be a risk. But it always comes down to the deal.

If it’s a loan until the end of the season on favourable terms then 100% go for it.

A free transfer and a year and half contract then it’s a maybe.

A sizeable fee and a 2 and half year contract then no chance.

I get his injury record isnt great historically but the one thing we lack in this squad is experience this season will get tough and the only players over 30 are Davies, Moore and Robinson, the next one is Hamer at 27, whilst that sounds great (it is great) but we do need some experience when it get to the home stretch

We want the "terrorizing defences" player not the entitled dick that some have called him. If he does join I hope Wilder will set him straight and he'll turn out to be a crowd favorite.

Who has called him that and on what basis? Because unless I’ve missed something he’s always come across as a decent down to earth kid??

He is a lovely young man. I watched him progress through school in Southsea. As young as 9 he used to rip my school's football team to shreds, but was always very grounded and modest. I used to have good banter with his ex-Wednesday dad, who worked at the Southampton academy at that time.

No idea who you're thinking of.

Leeds United have enquired about the availability of Newcastle United defender Matt Targett with the Magpies ready to consider bids for the 29-year-old left-back. (The Athletic - subscription required), external

The Whites are also keen on a surprise move for former Liverpool and Arsenal midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, whose playing time has been limited at Turkish club Besiktas. (The Sun)

At least his agent has moved on from using us!

Leeds getting sloppy seconds!
