Given our historical reluctance to dig deep where fees and wages are concerned, unless there's been a 360 degree change of mind from the Board, what makes anyone imagine we'll suddenly shell out the type of money that might increase any chance of promotion we might have? I'd love to see 2-3 quality players in our colours with fees and wages attached, but can anyone think of a good reason why this might happen?

Probably any change of mind will be because of confidence in the new manager.

Clear cut? How so, not based on his record he isn’t a clear cut PL player.
He’s young enough to still make that step up but he’s some work to do. Right now the only think clear cut PL about him is his wage demands.

Take him out and it leaves a massive gap in their team. Makes them look a bit ordinary to be honest. They lose. Slot of loans, however get a lot of loans back in, obviously of a lower quantity though.

I’m fairly confident no matter who we sell we won’t be paying 16 million + fees. Even if we sell assets and recoup significant fees I don’t see us completing any 8 figure transfers. I’d imagine we’ll see a mix of lower fees and loans with maybe one or two quality transfers in the 6-9 million range.

£16m is silly money for a championship club to be spending. Infact I'd be pretty annoyed if we were pissing that sort of cash up the wall for anyone.

Yeah same goes for wages as well. This is the time to maximise the advantage we have with parachute payments and not to just fritter that money away. We need to be clever in how we recruit this summer and bringing in players we could sell for a profit is important in that should we not manage to go up.

not saying we will but if exeptional offers come in for the likes of ramsdale egan berge and mcburnie and we accept them plus parachute payments who knows what slav might want to do and even though fulham want 16m for mitrovic it doesnt mean their going to get it

United's stated transfer aim is to identify and sign undervalued players with high sell on value like Brentford but without the data system they use. Mitrovic is not undervalued at 16+ million that’s probably the upper end of his valuation.

yeah your probably right yogi but im still not convinced mcburnie will be slavs type of striker and still think if a decent bid came in for him we may well sell cant see mousset staying either add to that billy probably in his last season as a player with us and i can see slav wanting to bring one more striker in

He may well not be and I’d imagine you’re right and mousset is done here. Plus jebbison won’t play week in week out if he stays and isn’t loaned out. If we do bring in a striker I’d imagine he’s likely to be in his early 20’s and either be a prem fringe player or foreign as that would fit the profile.

i would imagine it would be a striker with pace if mousset is moved on more than likely a young striker on loan from the premier league or like you say from europe plus cant see slav playing burke as a striker in fact can see him moving him on as well

Yeah Burke will be interesting this summer I can see him being given a chance in pre season but if it doesn’t work I can see us being ruthless.

well one thing he has got is pace but can only see slav using him in wide areas if we keep him might be handy in a front 3 but i think we will offload him if we can
