He has started 5 matches and scored 3.

Of those matches we drew 3 and lost 2. To give some context the whole team were awful the first three matches in which he started and he scored two in that period so I think its unfair to blame him. Especially when his previous record shows Wednesday are a top Championship team with him in it and average at best without him.

He has come on as sub 5 times. We have won 4 and drew 1 of those.

He has had no involvement in 7. We have won 1, drawn 1 and lost 5.

Fair comment

But still not for me and I would expect CW also

Anyone spring to mind that you would trust more than CW/AK to get it right this time?

Very clever, that's the usual fall-back position when you don't have anything further to add to the discussion. CW/AK are pissing in the wind and will ultimately fail without the backing of the club. Being the current 4th highest scorers, as you put it, means fuck all. We were 2nd highest a few weeks ago. You could trot the same line out in a few weeks when we are 6th highest scorers and all have a collective round of applause.

We need new strikers in the squad if we are to build on what we have now and I don't mean another Washington or some oldie who's at the fag end of his career. We don't need someone to interchange or act as back-up to Clarke/Billy/Goldie, we need someone to come in and take a lead even if it means replacing one or two of these. That's what I mean about the need to move forward instead of clinging to the past.

How's Ched getting on at Fleetwood these days (puts tin hat on and disappears into bunker)?

Has Washington played for the U23s? Will he be given a chance in the first team this season or is he another Holmes/Leonard?

Ched’s injured again though isn’t he? Shoulder apparently.

I don’t think we’ll see him in a United shirt again somehow.

Too early to judge Washington yet but all I’ve seen so far is he can run fast.

I’m really not a big fan of bringing in ex big name players. Defoe was exceptional at one bit though. The irony of this is that if he signs for us he will cost a fortune in wages and only be coming because Brooks is keeping him out the side!

Yeah Ched is out again. Think he's only started one game in the past month or so.

If I was a united fan, I'd want Forestieri (subject to him proving his fitness before January).

It'd be a bitter pill for Wednesday fans to swallow, he's completely different to what you have and he's exactly the type of X factor forward you lack.

Plus, with Wednesday's FFP issues, a significant bid would have to be seriously considered. I reckon you'd get him for £8m and he could definitely make the difference you are looking for.

McCabe giving the pigs £8M, never going to happen.

There's nothing TO discuss.
We hope desperately that our owners really do want us to get to the PL and that they will stump up some real money.
If they do, I personally think CW will use it well and probably already has his targets and sentiment about the 'old guard' won't cloud his mind.
No matter what we discuss, we can't change anything, we can only keep our fingers and toes crossed and hope for the best!

Washington is a fast Leon to me. If he fits a bit of form I reckon he'll be worth the nothing we paid for him.

Hopefully gets a chance in the FA Cup and kick-starts himself.

It’s not age that’s the issue with footballers, it’s attitude and character.

Dean Saunders never gave any less than 100% when he played for us at the end of his career, of course, the other end of that spectrum is the likes of Dean Hammond!

We definitely need someone in, if we got Washington for nothing, I’m afraid QPR have still had our pants down. I’d say he was shit, but he isn’t that good :(

Totally agree and why on earth would Wilder disclose his targets months in advance? Don't believe a word of it, nothing but clickbait.

We're in a good position, have a chance of promotion and would like to strengthen in January, maybe news items like this is good for us, false or not? I think we need our potential targets to be keen on us and to realise that we could be going places, not just choose us if they and their agent get a good deal.

Couldn't agree more.

Spot the difference between these over 30s:

McGrath, Speed, Cowans, Mortimer, Burridge, Rioch, Saunders, Cresswell, McNaught

and

Rush, Thompson, Higginbotham, Hammond, Johnstone, Bent#2, Beattie#2, Withe

I've left out Deane#3 as that was a sentimental punt and he never really got a game.

Undecided on Kitson, as at different times he could have gone in either group.

"The number of people on forums who’ve said stuff like “ it’s click bait shite from someone who pretends to be ITK but isn’t” would be mightily surprised at my sources!"

I wouldn't be 'surprised' as I'm not remotely interested.

I'll watch his programmes if he has decent guests on, but he is a buffoon.
His 'neutral older statesman" pretence is tedious in the extreme. He has little of consequence to say himself and lives on past glories .
"Did you know I used to be big on Radio Hallam..."

Too dull to even merit the term; wanker.

I don't police everybody on here.

Just the treasured few, like my bro' Si and a few others who need their inclinations toward Jacob Rees Mogg-ness puncturing from time to time.

Retirement home at the Lane, would rather us not sign either of these.
