"He's a big player for us?". Deluded
He has to say that. As the manager he has to give the impression that he is a valuable member of the team in order to get the best price for the coward when he is moved on in the summer. If he said “that sack of shit will be gone soon anyway, who cares?” Then clubs would be deterred from buying him.

Ive struggled to not despise him most of the season, always the first to chuck the towel in, his mardy arse antics on the pitch, petulant body language, just lashing out and pulling people down as they skip past him for the upteenth time. And all that captaincy boll*x - cant wait to see the back of him. Cant stand people who think they are better than they are - he could have had some pride and fought to stem the goal deluge and come away for a move with some credit. as it is? bye bye you absolute tosspot.

Anybody actually still rate this guy? He’s abysmal and has been all season
I’m okay with him being done and mistakes. Robbo gets it all the time. But he just doesn’t run back and doesn’t want to be here.

Not a good day for him, but reactions on here are a bit OTT in my opinion. Ahmedhodzic has had a tough first season at this level in a squad that has lacked leadership, organisation and ability from the start.

On the third goal, he's isolated with a dangerous player. Everybody knows that H-O likes to cut inside, he did it a few minutes before (against Bogle) but it doesn't mean it's easy to stop players like that. When they manage to side step the first defender it is useful to have a covering defender. Often this second defender should read what's happening and be in a position to help block the shot. Trusty can't quite do that, and Wes may also have been quicker to move over to his left:

None of them can quite keep up with Hudson-Odoi's quick feet and his shot is perfect. It should also be noted that Hamer was the one who lost the ball in a dangerous position, which set up the break.

I don’t think teams will be deterred, but they will want to pay fukall for him.

Why were they simply unable to stand on his right foot and force him down the line, when cutting in and only using his right has been a staple of his entire career?
If I know enough about him to know where I’d show him in one on ones why don’t they, and if they did know then why did they continually let him?

If you watch the video of the 3rd goal he backs off him and has his body positioned to make it easier for H-O to cut inside despite knowing that's exactly what he wants to do. Robinson appears to tell Anel he's shit while he's sat sulking on the floor too.

Regarding leadership, we have leaders in the squad, but Wilder chose to make Anel captain instead for some unfathomable reason.

Hudson-Odoi is a quality player and if he does something special then you sigh and move on. My problem is that our defenders stood off him in this goal and ended up not even getting close to blocking a shot. Just get closer to him. If he skins you, he skins you. But don't stand and watch him have all the time in the world to pick out the corner. You do that and you might as well not be there at all.

That goal wasn't the only problem with Anel though. The problem was when we went a goal down he looked like he'd lost all interest in the game. Worst moment for me was Wes wanting to take a short goal kick and Anel's stood in front of the South Stand doing his level best to avoid getting the ball. That's not ability, that's attitude. His red card at the end summed it up. All I see is a player who wanted to be anywhere but Bramall Lane as soon as it got tough.

I generally agree with just about all of your thoughtful, well-considered analysis. But I’m going to (respectfully) disagree with you on this one.

From where H-O receives the ball, given what our defenders will know about him, competent defending by a player who was brave and arsed enough would have denied him a shot, let alone a shot that was essentially unchallenged.

Pisspoor, from a player who mostly gave up being either brave or arsed months ago.

Trusty was a perfectly fine Championship defender last season. That's kind of why we bought him, in case you forgot. He's struggled this season, yep, but let's be realistic, it's one hell of a step up and he hasn't exactly been helped by injuries to fellow defenders making the whole side weaker, being played in less than an ideal position on occasions, and those around him also being crap. It's not as if he's old and his legs have gone. He'll be reyt, probably not spectacular for sure, but certainly not an accident waiting to happen
He's Fucking useless.

I can almost forgive him for the defensive ineptidude, that's by-the-by now as far as this season is concerned. I just can't accept the sulking, the "I don't want to be on this pitch" attitude and to top it all off the "fuck it I'm going to get sent off so I don't have to play at all" red card. He's a turd.

There's a gobshite sits a couple of rows behind me. Most matches I have to sit on my hands to stop me throttling the cunt but today when Anel got sent and was heading towards the tunnel he piped up that he should carrying on walking til he got to the M1 and carried on til he fucked off away from Sheffield. Couldn't agree more.

We can't carry mardy premadonnas with terrible attitudes, regardless of how good they are.
What's more concerning is we've carried him and he's been shit.

Mid week Wilder said he's known for a long time who's going and staying, I just hope he's the first out of the door and all the money is put into the kitty immediately.

It looked to me like he got himself booked and then sent off deliberately. Like he doesn’t even want to play the final games.
I was thinking of doing the same, either by running on the pitch and getting a lifetime ban or chinning a forest twat in front of a copper. But I'm not really into violence and not sure I had the burst of pace to get awy from the steward onto the pitch.

Who's first out the door, Wilder? That's fine with me

He’s missed Egan alongside him. Put him in a team with leaders and players able to cut out some of his mistakes and he’ll be more than capable in the Championship.
