Do people remember when Blackwell said he wanted the team to play with passion & pride & with good width & an attacking mentality.

Erm im sorry but we have NONE of those!!

Does anyone else feel they've had there pants pulled down?

Slightly, can't complete about the previous run but the football in general has been a bit poo.

I can't believe it, four games unbeaten, only two goals conceeded and people are whinging about the way we play.

Have a look at the shots on/off target stats for all four games and tell me which ones we were behind in !!!

some people are just never happy

our gert don't wear em !

I've done it for you,
Boro, 9/6 our favour
Watford 16/11 our favour
Leicester 11/12 against
Reading 11/5 our favour

You may also notice how many attempts at goal there were in the games at BDTBL compared to the away games.

Now tell me we don't try and play entertaining football at home.

All these attempts don't always make goals!

Shame really, they would have been great games if they did.

I do believe however that although it is only a small sample there is a trend already appearing and it would tend to support the view that we get forward and defend better than most of the teams we have played so far.

Just wait till we get our hands on Barnsley, Peterboro and Scunny, we might even get some goals then too.

BTW total attempts 47 /34 in our favour

Goals 6 / 2 in our favour.

Coincidence?

Did you notice the date and recall where we was around that date?

Indeed they don't, however Blackie didn't promise goals, just attacking football which surely is defined by more chances at goal?

To be honest I don't get all the fuss about our style or lack of it.

We played to the players we had last year, no width and a target man.

This season from the 3 games I've seen we have been more attacking, we have been getting the ball down more using the wide players we have and going by the Leicester and Reading results i.e. coming from behind I'd say the Pride was also present.

Which only leaves passion. The most overused nonsensical noun fans, journalists and managers use when they discuss football. They usually use it to define trying hard, which in my book should be a pre-requisite not a trait that needs it's own word.

Well if you didn't bump it, I can only guess that someone posted in it recently and then deleted their post!

TBH the only attacking really this season so far was the 2nd half against reading. The first half we was the same old bar 5 mins. Same at boro and leicester.

Had a tough schedule to start the season ,the best start in what 12 years and people are unhappy. We could have been playing poor teams and had more points !
Stoke with a bunch of tanks and Hull didn't play beautiful football and they are in the Premier league and are still there.
Reading and WBA tried pretty football which can't compete with the Premier League.
Who cares how you win as long as you get promotion!

 amen

Saturdays match against WBA should be an excellent pointer to the rest of the season - too early yet to make a judgement but Reading and Watford certainly won't be in the running for promotion this season, Leicester will probably finish mid table and Middlesborough are now looking better - perhaps playing them fist friday of the season wasn't a bad thing!
Lets see how Blackwell and the boys face up to a proper challenging team

We had a better start in our last promotion season....

You compare Hull and Stoke to

Reading and WBA tried pretty football which can't compete with the Premier League.

Reading and WBA.

However Hull and Stoke have so far only survived one year in the PL - Reading also did this and were relegated the following season (like Hull will be this season) and WBA have been a yo-yo team for years, but even they have staved off relegation from the PL once....

so after a decent start we can forget that? And when we played the best team we were fortunate that it was their first game? We can only define our season on how we do over 90 minutes against the championship favourites?

It's very obvious when someone is just desperate to be proved right, for all the wrong reasons.

Blackwell is a good manager his style gets results. He has great backing with big Sam and Speed things are looking good to me.

Last year we would have Lost the reading and leicester games after going behind.

It may not be Arsenal style football but that style of football does not get you out of this division.

We have made a great start get behind the team and manager.

Look at the other side of the city things could be a lot worse !!

Key Phrase - Wanted"

Who wouldn't ?

I want to sh*g Paris Hilton - Blackwells "wants "are more likely to be met before mine.

Blackwell was/is the cheap as chips option.
My opinion is he will do more damage to The Blades than f10pp0 did.

Time will tell.

Vida Guerra is the only girl that could turn me :D

Blackwell, love him or loathe him, he suprises to say the least. He gets results, but sometimes you have no idea how. I do think he has the respect of the dressing room though.

We fluke sometimes, but tactics are more often than not better in the second half.

Unbeaten in the league so far, with a much smaller squad than last season.

Come back from a goal down in two games

We've signed 68 pacey wingers in the summer and we're starting to use them, we've signed a £3 million striker.

2 of saturdays goals were from 20-25 yds

Which of those points have we not answered after just FOUR league games yes thats 4 games not 24!

Swiss, as has been said - this post was from the start of the year, not the start of the season.

Can't believe that you're comparing Wenger style to Blackwells methods (Can't use style and Blackwell in same sentence) Just to remind you Blackwell has yet to lead a side out of this division.
As for Big Sam Ellis he was the original hoofball merchant -when Big Sam kicked it, the ball went miles usually into the South Stand at Swillsborough.
As for comparing us with the clowns from S6 - give us a break - even under Blackwell and Ellis we are not that bad!
