It's always going to be 3 transfer windows with these holding the purse strings

Wigan go up the other end and make it 3-0 - cue chants of, "We're fucking shit." We weren't.

And the workshy, wage-stealing, passionless players came back from three down to 3-3 and could even have won.

We were abysmal at the back and all over the place. At 2-0 we looked shell shocked and at 3-0, like we didn't know what to do. For a few minutes it could have been like he Shrewsbury game and we could have conceded a hatful,

The 'great come back' was nothing of the sort. Done and Sharp kept hassling and Hammond and McCleverly were doing their best, but the rest of them went missing. Even at 3-2 there was absolutely no expectation we could get back in it. They always looked like they could walk through and get another one.

3-3 was a great result given how poorly we had played. Cardiff at BDTBL in 2007, it was not.

Totally disagree. At 2-0 we were playing well.

From memory Billy had already missed a very good chance created from the right by the Beard. (Also earlier there was the sending off that should have been.)

And at the end Billy could even have won it. One or two players can't bring you back from 3 down: it takes a team effort.

A team coming back from 3-0 down to 3-2 has no chance to get back in it? And it's the players that lack belief?

It wasn't a barnstorming performance - it didn't need to be. We carried on doing what was working at 2-0 and it eventually paid off. Credit to Adkins and the team.

You are misquoting me.

I didn't say 'no chance', I said 'no expectation'. We were that bad at the back (Collins/Edgar, McCleverly was playing well), that 4-2 looked a far more likely outcome than 3-3.

I agree credit was due but then again we should never have let them go 3-0 up.

Fairy Nuff.

But still...You have to take more risks at 3-0 and they were always going to get through us at some point. They did, and there was at least one point where our luck held.

At 2-0 I thought we would get back into it. At 3-0 (when we weren't "fucking shit" - as the chant goes) I thought it might be too much. But it was 3-1 within a couple of minutes - credit to players and management - Game On.

To miss out on all 3 targets is poor - and suggests that we are continuing to make unrealistic bids and trying to do things on the cheap. With our crowds we should have real financial muscle at this level but we don't. Our owners seem more concerned about balancing the books than driving us forward.
It really is shite.
Perhaps potential new signings realise we don't have a prayer of going up and don't fancy umpteen years of League 1 dross?
