A theme throughout the interview is the grit, determination, character, spirit, resilience, camaraderie, and fitness of the players - this last point is really important - we didn't fade even after Satdi, may be significant in the second half of the season

• need to deal with the cross better for the second
• it was a sending off first half - doesn't dwell on it though
• and Done should have had a penalty - only remember this vaguely, though at the time I thought he was fouled in the box before Billy hit the winner...nearly
• Billy was outstanding, eg linking the play, but it's about the team
• praises the players
• we created chances against a good side - they are for this Division, and we did
• played some good football - we did, passed through the thirds a few times and created chances that way instead of the gerrit forrads nonsense championed by the bloke in front of me
• briefly let's slip about wishing Done would link the play better but quickly and rightly focuses on the positive - he's right about Done though and this is where Sammon is better than Done despite being front of the scapegoat queue atm
• important we didn't lose
• need to stay in the race
• Q: Aiming for the top 2 A: It's a big ask but after tonight we aint giving up on anything - very good answer, though I fear a miracle run of results in which we miss autos by 1 point...with the inevitable outcome
• talks about recovery strategies and how it's not about 11, everyone will have to contribute
• Coutts is ok, part of the reasoning was see how Bash and Hammond get on, by resting him we will have a fit midfielder for Satdi - nice to know
• also gets a mention that Coutts has been top drawer

• Flynn talked up - fwiw I thought he had a mare
• hopefully Wallace will play for Shrewsbury - he sounds as exasperated as is ever likely to (which is not very) with Wallace, I can't see him being back at the Lane
• looking to bring a couple in - this is a consistent message
• need to manage the squad - ditto
• need a pathway for the youngsters - ditto
• we need a squad where everyone has a chance of first team football - sounds like a very good, simple and obvious plan, but it's not always been true at BDTBL
• expecting Hammond to sign though you don't know for sure till paper is signed, and this goes for other deals
• Q: George Moncur? A: Who knows? I know it is vague, but I want to talk about the players
