Adams Out!

I have a hamster that runs round the same wheel day after day after day. It sort of coincides with a certain posters postings on here.

I could not disagree more SCB. I do not need to list, for someone of your obvious intelligence, history's countless examples of changes brought about by the pressure of public opinion. At the parochial level of SUFC, look no further back than the departure of the former non-league, semi-pro, reserve goalie.
So you justify your argument by saying the 'pressure of public opinion' brought about the removal of a manager who
- in his first(half season) saved us from a relegation fight and nearly got us to the play offs
- In his second season got us to the play offs
-in his third season just missing out on the play offs

All this whilst having to sell the better players to reduce the debt and having to reduce the wage bill by over 50%.

His win per game %tage was also higher than many of his more esteemed peers.

'the pressure of public opinion' wanted Warnock sacked the season before we were promoted

We can only dream that Adams is as sucessful as this

It could be argued that the public feel they are the experts when the evidence would appear that they are not !!

Must admit that whilst not being a fan of Blackwell, maybe he did have his hands tied by the powers that be with regards to squad strengthening and re-building. OK he may have been a yes man, but maybe that comes with constantly banging your head against a brick wall.

On paper, keeping a clean sheet and finally getting a point away from home is a good result. However, the performance did not warrant that result. Coventry had 21 attempts on goal, 18 corners, hit the woodwork 3 times and simmo played like superman. We were very very lucky and need to improve quickly.

Yeah he was only given a £15-20 Million wage bill year on year.

bit harsh,FB. Wasn't given any wagebill in his first half season -instead he had to rectify the mess Robson had left.
After that, the second season was the one we should have gone up as the wage bill for that season(£18mill was it ?) should have seen us through. It was after that failure that KM should have let him go.

The following season was a firesale of players, very difficult to manage and the sale of players such as the Kyles helped suppliment the 'loan' wage bill we had to take on board due to injuries. However he did waste money on Howard,Cotterill,Henderson,Sharp which didn't help but compared to the sales he had to make in his last season and a half, that was just a drop in the ocean.

I was just trying to counter Pinchy's arguement in as much as saying that people pressure doesn't always bring the correct decision as history will probably say Blackwell wasn't as bad as some would make out...he just wasn't quite good enough.

Oh no, not a Blackwell supporter!? Where have you been hiding??!

Full credit to Baildon Blade. He came on here, dropped a bomb and got out. He hasn't bothered debating and just watched it go off (which I suspect it will further if Bartman keeps saying that King Kev was the best thing since sliced bread). We have another Micalijo or Lenners in the making!?

LOL...read my post after,Olle where I say he should have gone after the play off final and that he wasn't quite good enough..sorry to disappoint you ;)
