Academy Prem Medal

Watching Kyle Walker on the box tonight made me think - will he be the first graduate of our academy to get a top league winners medal?

More generally, how many of our ex players have got a top league medal in the last 50 years? Mick Jones and Gary Cahill are the only two to come immediately to mind.

Alex Forbes left us for Arsenal in March 1948. He played 9 league games for Arsenal in the rest of 1947-48 season when they won the league. He made 33 appearances when Arsenal won the League again in 1952-53.

Mick Jones played through the ranks for us before leaving for L**ds in Sept 1967. Won League Championship medal for 1968-69 and 1973-74

Not an academy player, but Traianos Dellas won the Euros with Greece. Not a league medal, but not a bad one to have
