Both played in big European leagues outside their homeland. Only a muppet compares an 80 million quid champions league keeper to an unproven kid from Turkey who might be a good keeper but hasn't proved anything outside Turkey. Homework or not doesn't guarantee anythingSo are you saying Wilder and the coaching staff havent done their home work
Weve been looking at this keeper for months
Im sure Allison or Ederson hadnt played in this country or league before
Package him in with Josh King

If only football was played on spreadsheets life would be so much easierI agree with Young and English, but I have to respectfully disagree with the proven quality element. In regards to incredibly basic scouting I have posted my view on the quality of a number of goalkeepers based on advanced goalkeeping statistics numerous times in the forum.
To add balance statistically Ramsdale is not someone who stands out as a top ten goalkeeper. Ranked 13th best in the premier league with a PSxG of 0.1 which is impressive, however, means the 62 goals he did conceded were effectively uncontested. Henderson’s +4.6, stopped what should have been goals.
Taking into account the stat that sky sports keep mumbling on about (3rd most saves) it’s true that being in a relegated side you will have undoubtedly faced more shots, therefore, you would expect a goalkeeper to have been forced to make more saves (or at least have opportunity) his actual save percentage in the premier league 0.678 is ranked 15th. Similar to that of Matthew Ryan.
His 40 yard or more pass completion stat 30.4 is actually slightly better than Henderson’s 29.5 however this ranks him as 18th best in the premier league.
I’m not attacking the character, attitude or heart of the lad, he’s got the talent and work rate plus he’s a blade, but I’m not going to blindly accept a fee that a potentially financially challenged club is going to pluck out of the air for a player who has limited experience, it does no good for the club or the young lad.
To add politely, that fact it was stated “some incredibly basic scouting” followed by my mates at Wimbledon said they loved him and reckoned he kept them up is a ridiculous comment. UTB! Wilder will sort it.
The only time he played for our 1st team at the Lane was the 6-0 win against Leyton Orient in the FA CupI really hope we aren't going to blow millions on bringing Ramsdale back. If we want to give Bournemouth a handout, there's a few more of their players that I'd go for before him.
Don't get me wrong, I've nothing against Ramsdale, but from what I saw of him he was a bit slow for my liking. I can't remember what game it was now, but there was one match at the Lane when we were losing and he's taking ages to take a goal kick - like he didn't know the score or something. And I thought he looked generally quite hesitant.
It's Aaron not Arron....All this discussion over the wrong GK!We need a keeper, he fits the bill, reportedly only on £3k a week at Bournemouth, his family are still up here, decent, young, Blade.....

So who is more proven? And therefore less of a gamble? Who is cheaper if we don't have money to splunk? Does doing homework change that? Can we leave this here?As Ive said Wilder will have done his homework that is all he can do
Every signing is a gamble unless you sign someone from a top club
I dont know if youve noticed we dont have £80m to spunk on top players so we have to take some sort of a gamble
Can we leave this here?
Hand bags ladiesYes muppet
Cakir is light years in front of the busy Mr Hollywood. I’d rather have my 103 year old, deaf, grandma playing in the net than Ramsdale.
I've always found the daily mails sport stories to be about as accurate as it gets![]()
Sheffield United ready to make improved £15million bid for Ramsdale
The Championship side rejected a bid of around £12m last week and value the 22-year-old at closer to £25m. Ramsdale joined Bournemouth from Sheffield United for £1m three years ago.www.dailymail.co.uk
Well it is the Daily Fail so take it with a pinch of salt. If we have sell on clause for say 20% that means were offering £18 million. As the comments section of the article state we can buy better for that price.
Is that how it works. It would confuse the issue if clubs put a bid in?![]()

You’ve been playing too much football managerDoes anyone know how Ramsdale/Cakir stack up in terms of distribution?
Is Cakir more a sweeper keeper as opposed to Ramsdale being more a traditional GK?
I wouldn’t normally doubt your knowledge SilentBlade but I wasn’t at that game and I have definitely seen him play at the Lane. So there must be another occasion? Did he come on as a sub perhaps? The only time he played for our 1st team at the Lane was the 6-0 win against Leyton Orient in the FA Cup

Yes he played at Bolton in the 2nd round. We lost 3-2So it must have been the away game at Bolton then? I was at that game too.
Yes, at Reebok, not at the Lane.I think he may have played against Bolton too that season

He's from Stoke and came through the Bolton you system before joining us. His affinity to us is professional at best.Ramsdale future Blades (supporting) captain for us? Worked well with Billy. Certainly a nice to have.
