Your "poles" (I know polls) are less exciting than an announcement by the ITV that Alan Titchmarsh has a new daytime TV show starting next week.
It is probably not as simple as the poll. We are stuck with the financial model due to the FFP rules. Plus, scads of money from Kevin and HRH is no use at all unless invested wisely.
We probably won't go up only signing L1 and L2 journeymen. Most of the team could be that calibre but we need a talisman in each area of the field. Hopefully the new goalie solves that problem, but we need a defender (preferably CH), midfielder and forward who will inspire their colleagues to greater heights. It is trite to say it but you get out of this division (upwards) with lots of goals (forwards, midfield) and a mean defence (defenders, midfield, goalie). I think we might be nearly there (Billy can get lots of goals if he is played correctly) but we do need some solid playmakers in the roles I mentioned. They'd probably be Championship level and may be 30+ but can control the game. Think Stuart McCall, Morgs etc.
Full disclosure - I haven't seen the Blades this year, this is based on comments from various sources. And I have no suggestions for who we might recruit.
You sure all of that FFP is wholly applicable to us? Not in an enforcement sense, in that our debt (whilst significant) isn't on a scale with clubs who the regulations were designed for. Like the pigs, for example.
I get this feeling its just more excuses and smoke and mirrors.

Probably a bit too positive for some bit I like the sound of it!If I was McCabe I would be looking at why other teams can get out of this division on smaller budgets and we can't?
Oh I know we sell our best players and I know we don't give managers time, but do they always need it?
Chris Powell - Changed a whole team and got promoted in his first season at Charlton
Saunders got Doncaster relegated, yet promoted in the first season.
Barnsley had two managers, yet used the loan system and being bottom at Christmas went up.
Burton - Double promotion and even had clough to finish it off.
Bristol City - Steve Cotterill promoted in season 1. Yes they had money, but he had a plan and stuck to it.
We appear to be a bit of a mix between Charlton and Bristol City. Everyone says that Wilder should probably cut his cloth in stages, however maybe looking back he could have been looking to get rid of Brayford, Sharp a bit earlier.
I think we know what Wilder's plan is. High pressing, quick players and more direct, however we have players who aren't one or the other nevermind both. Sharp works hard but is not quick, Coutts apparently will be good after next years pre-season but he will never press. I don't think Done is good enough personally and Basham can't pick his nose, nevermind a pass. That mistake should be rectified straight away and move him back to CB.
We need quick, young, hungry players with something to prove, transfer or on loan. Lavery, Brannigan, Ojo are players we should be targeting. Poche fella at Spurs (yes I always bring him up) never buys older players, because they don't listen. They have been there and done it. Young players will do what you ask generally. Press, press press.
I want to see wilder get this right and I agree with what the club is trying to do. 18 players all on parity wage wise that want to progress. We should be able to do that on the budget provided with this ethos.
We just need a little bit more patience
