Well. I've been critical of McCabe at times over the years, critical of the prince more recently, but hats off to the pair of them for the transfers that have been sanctioned this summer. I was terrified that we'd try and do it on the cheap, but we as a club have shown a real statement of intent.

Agreed, I’m more than happy with level of investment by both our owners. I’m confident we can survive, get the court case out of the way and hopefully this is that start of a very bright future for us.

UTB!

ive always been 1 of McCabe few fans. because i think he has always deserved more credit than he gets. albeit with alot of luck but who doesnt. like think of all the big team that got relegated & we never ended in the same finical issues or go into administration

even if its strange that we have spent 60m+ in 30ish years & we spent 45m in 2 months

Waste of money. Should have brought Rio Ferdinand and John Terry in. We didn't need owt else.

Doomed we are, DOOMMMMMMMMEDDDDD!

Over the years McCabe has come in for criticism, some justified but this is a statement of intent to stay up I hope it works and we can build on it. I say consolidate this season, win league next season and season after CL plus we provide 75% of players for WC in Qatar.
We will stay up!!

No one's more critical of our boardroom than me, this boardroom and past boardrooms have been absolutely shocking more often than they've been average, but fair play to them this time. We couldn't have asked for more.
If we go down this time at least they've given it a good go

The downside to us splashing big now, when Football Managwr 20 is released I'm just gonna have like 2 million in the pot to spend.

I'm with you all the way.

He's been badly advised at times by people he trusted that were supposedly better qualified to judge and respected in football circles, most of whom have moved on and are still working in the game, but he's always had the interests of the club at the forefront of his thoughts.

At the end of the day he's a property developer that has made a lot of money and spent it on a football club, and not a football man that has made a lot of money and invested it in property.

He was quite right to take the opinions of advisors that were generally well respected in football circles, but in my mind they let him down and by association us too, at least as much he has let us down himself.

That's what Kevin McCabe said when we were promoted to the Premier league, and I think we would all agree that is exactly what he/they have provided.
Arguably for the first time he has delivered fully on his promise
he backed us well in 2003 to 2006 and to be fair we got to 2 more play offs after that

and he gave wilson plenty in the circumstances 2012

so saying its the first time is a bit harsh
he only provides funds
the managers have come up short
he wanted to sell for 5 years, a bit like the scenario our porky freinds find themselves in just now

Fair points mate.

I think this idea of the judge dropping a nudge and a wink to both sides, as to what his judgement is going to be before he makes it, is a great idea.
It’s really cranks up the tension.

:)

3.30am

Ring ring

"Hello"

"Mr McCabe? I'm not telling you who this is, but you've lost"

"Bollocks. let's spend the money anyway....."

Both owners deserve a lot of credit for this transfer window.

They’ve put their differences to one side and granted wilder and the management team a very healthy budget which gives us our best possible chance of staying up.

I never thought I’d see the day when we spent over 40 million in one transfer window and almost 20 million on one player.

I thought it was just our luck and typical United that an ownership court case would ruin all the amazing things happening on the pitch but wouldn’t have ever expected this summer even with a perfectly stable boardroom.

So thank you to them both as well as the full management team for making these deals happen. I’m one very excited blade
