Win all remaining games.
Sheffield United 94 points.
Luton Town 86 points.
Middlesbrough 83 points.
Only Blackburn can get 80 points. the rest can only get less than 80 points.
so Blackburn and the rest are out of the race.
we need 10 points to be promoted.
Four home games on the trot UTB.

We can take ourselves to the premier league. No need to rely on others

If Luton win all 5 remaining games (which is very unlikely as they have a tough run in) then we need 3 wins from our last 6.

We only need Luton to drop some points, like a single draw
then it's likely that a mere 2 wins from our last 6 will be enough.

So we only need the Millers to draw against Luton.
Regardless, if we beat Cardiff on Saturday and we're almost promoted.

Both Luton and Boro have a tougher finish compared to our matches.
There's no way either will win almost all their remaining matches.

It's very possible low 80's will be enough to finish 2nd this season.
2 wins from our last 6 matches should be enough.
We might even be able to relax during the last 3 matches, as promotion might be sealed.

That would be a novelty in our last home match of the season against Preston.
They might have a chance of the play-offs, pack out the away end and be all nervous whilst we can just relax and enjoy the game, knowing we're already promoted.

Luton and boro still to play each other, so somebody's dropping points..

Lutons final 5 games are

A to Rotherham : We all know Rotherham (like Millwall) can be tough on their own patch.
A to Reading : Reading desperately need the points to avoid relegation, have a terrible away record but a great home record, could be tough.
H to Middlesboro : When Boro click, they are easily one of the best teams in the league, tough match for Luton
A to Blackburn : Can be inconsistent/ unpredictable but when Blackburn click, another team will be too good for Luton regardless of how Luton play.
H to Hull City: A bit inconsistent but are capable of pulling off a result.

Even being optimistic for Luton, they'll have performed exceptional well to win 3, draw 1, lose 1 which puts them on 81 points.
In those exact same fixtures we won 2, drew 1 and lost 2 of those 5 games.

So we would need just 81 points to match them, as we have a much better goal difference.
We are currently on 76 points, so 1 win, 2 draws and 3 defeats from our final 6 matches might be enough.
Thats why I say, just beat Cardiff on Saturday and the promotion race is edging very close to being over.

Can we just concentrate on winning Cardiff, as that’s not a given, if we win we can relax when the other games kick off, then if any of the others then great.

Luton and Boro have to play each other so they cant both get the maximum so a draw would be good

We have 2x home games before Wembley.

Win them both and the MINIMUM lead we have on Luton is 5 points. Luton would only have 9 points left to play for

If we win both and Luton DRAW one of the games, Luton would be 7 behind with 9 points on offer.

If we win both and Luton LOSE one of their next 2... well, we might as well pop the champagne at Wembley.

If we drop any points in the next 2, it becomes tighter. But we still have an extra game on them

These players finished the season well last year, they know how to win..

Trust them, Saturday we get to start the run in with all games left winnable..

One or two on this thread can't count.
Luton by winning every game can get 86pts
If we only win three games that only takes us to 85pts.
We need three wins and a draw to reach 86pts then we have to hope Luton don't score a lot of goals in their 5 wins
To make sure we need four wins as it stands now, it could all change on Saturday if Rotherham get something, then we would need three wins.
The trouble is for the next two games we play first Luton will know exactly what is required.

Anyone know how to get a couple of tickets for the Rotherham game? Looked online and you have to have a previous purchase. Must be a way of getting a ticket as a first time visitor sort of thing?

Have you posted on twitter asking our brethren to help you?

A lot of people on here are getting carried away, 15 points available to Luton 18 for us.
Anything can happen yet, get a grip.
