Rotherham’s win today (along with their play off final win bout 8 years ago) reminds me once again of the list of clubs who’ve managed to win a big one-off match at a neutral venue over the last century.

Can’t be more than 15 clubs in the EFL with a worse record, there’s clubs that have dropped in and out of the national league who’ve won a trophy or even a cup semi final ahead of us. Even tranmere and Bradford have played in the league cup final in the last 30 years.

97 years since we last won at Wembley. Complete and utter shite

The Papa Johns Trophy final is not a big one off match.

It’s a crappy competition for crappy pub league teams who’ve no chance of winning anything else so they create a competition just for them and don’t let teams from the top 2 divisions enter it.
