I never was a huge fan of Tony Wagstaff but each clip I've seen of matches of that era he's played some useful football.

Punton looked as though he was struggling.

That defence was still experimental after the break up of Coldwell, Shaw(s), Summers and Richardson.

My dad said Tony Wagstaff showed a lot of promise when he was a teenager but wasnt as good two or three years later
 
Interesting to note there were no action replays so it was virtually impossible to question a refereeing decision.

It was also good to hear the old classic chant "who's your father, who's your father etc, etc". Not heard that for years!
