Only joking...but something of a 'Bassett' type signing I think, can't find it now but read an interview with the lad about how he came into the game, lot of hard work, patience, not the usual route through academies and worked 'in the real world' before soccer...

We would've had him if fucking Rotherham didn't need to add yet another out of favour Championship player to their own Championship squad. The sooner they get relegated the better.

I'm disappointed about it, his physicality and ability would've made him a very good player in L1, probably a replacement for Coady let alone Basham.

Don't get me wrong, I'm delighted with his arrival, but as I said on another thread the other day, it's a case of "great, glad that one's done - now let's move quickly on to the next one..." such are the gaps in the side at the moment.

Can't say I know too much about him. But Brentford put a decent side together and he earned a prem move. Hopefully he can provide some assurance to the back 4.

I know he's not been brilliant recently but feel abit for GL. Was derided in some quarters for thinking about the boro offer but he could quite easily be a sub in the prem instead of a l1 squad player. Makes you see the other side of the coin from players like slew, Adams etc

Yeah, I would've liked Adeyemi tbf, a solid player and his championship experience would have made him an even better League 1 player.
Who now? John Joe O'Toole for me probably, that way we don't lose any height but we add strength and heading ability. And goals from midfield too which is vital. Not quite as quick as Basham but that doesn't really bother me, Basham never uses his pace anyway - always looks like bambi on ice.
If not him, Marlon Pack, Anthony Grant, Luke Hyam or Jimmy Ryan would all be good and totally realistic.
