I think Lavery will be the left side striker/winger. There simply must be more to this fee than meets the eye though. A fee of 500k is far far more than most of us would expect to have spent on one player [In fact it's 500k more than LS26BLADE thought we'd spend at all... ]

Hardly a "support group" but a lot recognise that he's not the root cause of the problem. We have many positions on the pitch that could be bettered, GK being one of them. I lost it at bit with people around me that blamed Long for the 1st 2 goals the other night. Nothing to do with him the 1st. 2nd was a misunderstanding but yet people decided to blame him above anybody else. 3rd, again, nothing to do with him.
I do think we need a solid GK but to blame him for every goal conceded is damn right pathetic

I agree with that in that its not all his fault. However, the second goal was identical to the one in the 4-4 with Exeter years ago when he failed to communicate with Williams. No improvement and must go urgently.

In my view Long is still learning but has been pushed too quickly, with too much responsibility, for the age and ability he is. In relation to Moore, 500K is money well spent if he is 500k worth of player. My only concern is that other clubs know that we're desperate for a keeper.

He's big, strong, vocal, a presence in his area, comes for crosses and settles his defence. In every way, that's an improvement on what we already have, and he's only 26.

I can't see it being 500k. I reckon more likely to be something like 150k with appearances, promotion and sell on clauses

Aye, I'd share the same concerns about the price tag, when we have other areas that we obviously desperately need to strengthen! We need a GK and I'd be happy with his arrival, but not if it means we can't reinforce the side elsewhere (e.g. CM). I'd be surprised if a fee of £350,000 wasn't more than enough to sign Moore.
