Cardiff City goalkeeper Simon Moore is in talks over a move to League One side Sheffield United.

The 26-year-old was signed from Brentford in 2013, but has found his first team opportunities limited by the consistency of Scottish international David Marshall.

The Blades are keen to sign the player who wants regular first team football.

Negotiations between the two clubs are underway with the fee set to be in the region of £500,000.

Moore made six league starts last season and his departure would leave youngster Ben Wilson as cover for highly rated Marshall.

Picture suddenly doing the rounds on Twatter showing two new players it looks having an interview. Kitted up and all. Unable to post it here if anyone would like to do the honours? No goalkeeper kit though which may be significant?

Ok, let's get it out of the way early on..

Erm, he's not had many (any?) games under his belt in the last two years has he?

Just saying like.

Well we were impressed with him

SIMON Moore (pictured) will want to forget this afternoon in a hurry after the Brentford keeper's blunder handed Sheffield United their crucial second goal at Griffin Park.

The Bees fell behind just five minutes in when a slip by Shaleum Logan proved fatal as Ched Evans took full advantage and fired past Moore to put the visitors in front.

Sigh... welcome Simon

Not doubting wat you're saying at all but if that's the case then aren't the club wasting their time on these unrealistic targets - similar to what Adkins did before he blew his wad on Hammond?

Depends what you class as an unrealistic target

We're more likely to sign a Championship fringe player than a proven League One/Two player. A fringe player will be more inclined to leave to get first team football. A proven league one or two player wants double what he's currently getting.

Fair play to him - he wants to play games, is willing to drop to L1 to get them and I doubt Utd are paying as much as he's currently on.

Utd desperately need a GK (pity it has taken CW this long to work Long out as not good enough the be honest as he's already cost the club points) so it looks a good fit.

I don't mind the club paying fees out but £500k for someone who only played a handful of games last season and is in the final year of their contract is more than I was expecting.

Fingers crossed he rises to the challenge.

Interesting night on here. Pandemonium? Meltdown? Who can say.

I'm well and truly strapped in.

Anybody's guess. The one on the left could be Morsy or Lavery - fairly small, dark hair. Could be anybody though, including current players.

Reckon its current players, do new signings put the full kit on including boots when they have there photos to announce them to the club.

When have new players ever been introduced in full kit?

It's almost always holding the shirt up or a scarf above the head.

Don't fudge yer Calvin's just yet, fellas.

No, you have to agree both a fee with the club and the player's wages plus signing on fees and agent's cut etc. You can't know what all of those are going to be on day one and sometimes players decide they're going to ask for a bit more at the last minute or another club comes in with a better deal.

Just because you fail to land someone doesn't mean they were an unrealistic target. I bidded for several properties before I bought my flat, none of them were unrealistic, they just didn't work out for various reasons (including being shown one that had already been sold STC by a prick of an agent).

At least that shows we are willing to put up cash for transfer fees. Something that some people doubted although possibly with some reason.

Possibly not the transfer fee as such, maybe more the exorbitant wages & add ons they wanted (£10'000 a week was it for Tafazolli?)

Surely the guy taking the photo might mention that the other 20 are there or not. Makes me think and no reason to back this up that we are going to make a big deal of these signings, so let's hope they are good ones

Grants wages and loan fee would have been a similar amount. At least this is permanent

Cant wait to get stuck into any new player can we . hows about Welcome to Sheffield United ? Our fans really do fuck me off sometimes.
As for his lack of appearances ,he is understudy to the best keeper outside the premier league.

What people have been asking for is an experienced keeper. Why can't who it is be questioned?

"Guess the signing" - I love these threads.

Even more so when we've got secretive pictures to decipher.

I'm gonna go with Fleck and Hussey in that photo. Would love it to be 2 new signings but can't see it.
