I actually think Long could still do well in his career, but no longer with us.
Gerken can't be bad, he played most of last season at Ipswich. And really all we need is someone to help out the defence and do their job. Surely Gerken couldn't make things any worse?

I thought his agent touted him around before he eventually signed his new contract with us?

Personally, as soon as the new keeper comes in I'd have Ramsdale out on loan until the JTW to see if he can hack it and stick Long on the bench. Then, if Ramsdale shows he's up to it, I'd loan Long out in the JTW and keep Ramsdale as back up/competition.
