Match thread for Tuesday night's trip to Forest...

From one difficult away game to another at a very frustrating time. Speedo has all on to get a result from this and iits difficult to suggest what side he should put out. With Wardy suspended I think he will be forced into a 4-4-2 formation. I would suggest the following:-

Simonsen
Calve, Bartley, Nosworthy, Jordan
Yeates, Britton, Montgomery, Quinn
Evans, Bogdanovic

We need a bit of a shake up and the introduction of Yeates and Bogdanovic might give us something different. We have to set about them right from the word go and pen them into their own half. If we set our stall out to contain Forest will simply play it cagey and bide their time. They are a very patient and thoughtful side so wont commit many forward. We should be wary of their counter attack but at the same time we'll invite them to play in our half if we dont press.

Well, Wardy didn't start Saturday and yet there was no sign of a 4-4-2 formation.

I expect more of the same and something-nil to Forest.

Agree with all of that. Speed simply as to change things around. He is showinhg faith and confidence in players that just don't deserve it (Monty, Evans and Cresswell). For a host of games we've played 4-5-1 (4-3-3) and played poorly. We've struggled to create chances and struggled to take the few that we do create. Speed doesn't have a lot of extra resources, but he needs to use them. After the last 2 games Quinn, yeates and Boggy must be given a chance. United have rode their luck (winning a few games they shouldn't have) but even the most positive fans can see that 4-5-1 with Evans lone striker, Cressy out left and 3 defensive midfielders in the centre is just not working. It needs a shake up.

Personally I'm expecting very little from tomorrow night. I'd be over the moon with a point. I think that Forrest will win, but only by a goal or 2. We stifed Leeds and gave away a stupid goal and I envsiage something similar tomorrow. by that I mean a workman like, slightly poor, lacking in qaulity, but fairly solid performance. Few chances created, few shots on goal and losing by the odd goal.

Sadly that is what I'm expecting as well. We need to get something tomorrow even if we have to do it ugly.

Two tough fixtures at a bad time for us IMO.

Talking of Ugly, I reckon Earnshaw will get one.

Get in , creswelllllllllll !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll take a point there. I'd love it if/when we caan score twice in a game though. I was hoping not to concede again rather than hoping we would score again which is not my usual mindset. Well done though Blades. Did we take many in the end?

Just on way back. Good first half, if Boggy had finished his chance to make it 2-0 it'd have been game over.

Foul in the build up for their goal, Adebola jumping into Nos with no intention of challenging for the ball.

Boggy did okay, held the ball up well at times.

Bit gutted to only get a point.

thought boggy looked class (when compared to ched). in reality, he did well, held up the ball well, laid it off, even managed to turn and run with it (everything ched can't do). thought we looked a bit flat when he went off and couldn't help but think forest were going to grab one at some point.

hadn't expected us to get anything from there so happy with the point, but also a little disappointing after we were one up and looked good for it for a long period. yeates and boggy have to keep starting.

another emergency loan while bartley is out? or lowton in at center half?
