Levante made 2 subs compared to our 11 subs and still managed to score in the 80th minute. They’ve also played less pre-season games than us. Sounds like the fitness coaches are still on last seasons form 🤦‍♂️🤣

Why is that a negative ? You shoudnt get hung up about results in friendlies anyway

Pre season is all about the players getting minutes.

Last season one of our biggest issues was player fitness and this is already a sign that it hasn't improved...
There's clueless and there's clueless
Oh do please educate us with your superior knowledge...

How is it, exactly? It's standard practice for most clubs to play different sides each half of friendlies these days, by no means just us that does it.

I think he means that it’s better for the whole team to get minutes playing matches and increase match fitness rather than just making less subs.

You could also argue that having bad games / results in pre season is seen as a positive as it highlights weak areas before the league starts. I think we had good results in pre season with Selles last year, the league started and we looked way off it.

Honestly if you can't figure it out for yourself I really can't be bothered to explain because we'll be here all day 🤣

Well. apart from our opposition in the game.

I do kinda see the argument that playing 45 mins in a couple of games probably isn’t great to get yourself prepared for 100 minute league games, but let’s see what happens in the later friendlies when their back from camp.

Why is that ????
Many clubs field 2 x different sides in early season friendlies
If they didnt how would the fringe / bench players get any minutes in their legs

So you don’t think it’s an issue that the other teams players who had all played 80 minutes still had more energy than ours who had only played 35 minutes?

Its a pre season friendly FFS not the 2nd week of September
Have you any evidence that the opposition players that played 80 minutes had more energy than ours that played 45 minutes. Did you see our players wilting in the 2nd half
Think youre being a bit of a drama queen

If we’re aiming for peak physical condition by the 2nd week in September what’s the plan for the first few games considering our first league game is the 15th August?

You build your fitness up gradually
You have no evidence that we are behind any other club with regards to fitness at this stage of pre season
