Firstly haven't got a scooby although I'd be amazed if we weren't in for the players rumoured on deadline day. With them falling through at the last minute you'd hope the club have put stuff in place to be able to get them doen quickly. I wish. A true box 2 box MF is essential IMO.

Secondly the formation will be the same 4231 we play now. Just we'll hopefully have the players to play it better.

Ship out who and how? Who in their right minds would pay for any of our players given their form going back over nearly two years of football now.

Fleck? Stevens? Robinson? Freeman? McBurnie? Brewster? McGoldrick? Lys "60 minutes" Mousset? Norrington-Davies? Burke? Foderingham? Verrips? Who would buy them?

We might get a Championship club interested in Baldock, Bogle or Egan.... maybe, but we'd be lucky to get more than £2mil for either of them.

We're stuck with this squad, we've got no money to buy anyone, hence all we're doing is getting players on loan, and we can't raise funds by selling our best players as we don't have any best players. They're all crap.

If we have an option to send Hourihane back we should, however I wouldn't be surprised if we are stuck with him for the season

I must admit I had never seen much of Brewster, until we showed an interest in him, so what position was he playing when he was scoring every other game?, was he a striker, a winger or an attacking midfielder?, I am really curious as to where he played and how the team around him played.

Fodderingham - not sure why he gets so much stick, he seemed ok when I have seen him play, a steady pair of hands, not a world beater, but steady, possibly steadier than Olsen?

Verrips - I think he must have been bought in by JVW and that must have rubbed CW up the wrong way, because we never saw anything of him, and what we have seen has not been good.

Luke Freeman, is he injured?

Some of these signings have been baffling, to say the least. Freeman never really had a look in, since the day he arrived. Callum Robinson, another.

I don't think he is that good to be honest he's just the type of player Slav wants in midfield (like the former Leeds lad). If you have a tough tackling energetic ball winner in there then Norwood would be twice the player. Fleck is not that kind of player really. He did well for Hull when he got a chance. Worth a punt.

What we call dross is someone else's treasure. We are no different to most clubs who have players fans dislike.
But some players change at different clubs. Norwood for instance staŕs well at most clubs he's been at.
They are not all crap they are square pegs in round holes here. It's the same with most clubs. Calvert Lewin couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo with us

Our defence is unprotected because we don't have a defensive ball winner in midfield.

I think a left wingback, a defensive mid, a left winger, then a left (I'm seeing a pattern) sided CB is the order we need to prioritise.

Did you mean to quote Handsworth's reply to me mate?.. In any case I would tend to agree that an athletic CM is what we probably most lack, but closely flowed by that brick shithouse at LCB.

I do wonder why Addy isn't even making the bench too. I know he is getting on a bit but in his brief cameos, he has looked like what we might lack in the middle.

Completely agree. If we're going to play with the ball higher up the field then we need to not be a soft touch at the back. We need somebody that's very athletic and adept at breaking up the play so we don't keep losing the midfield battle (I don't think we've won it more than 3 or 4 times this season) and we need somebody that can deal with physical direct threats at the back.

In the meantime, to compensate for the lack of those players I would be inclined to revert back to a back 3 and bring Basham back into the team. This current system gets the best out of none of our defenders and we're a soft touch. If it means losing one attacking player then so be it, they're never all effective in a game anyway.

Robinson had a fair crack compared to L Freeman

I think if we managed to get some midfielders who can tackle and not bottle every challenge it slick improve that

Egan/Davies are top CB’s at this level
