2 points dropped

And that basically sums it up.

The gap between us and the rest is considerable but it's not reflected by points anywhere near as much as it should be.

indeed - no problems though, we played well today and drew to a poor team, so I suppose that's ok for a lot.

UTB

fine - lots settle for mediocrity - some of us don't.

Wanting better is what really counts and knowing what needs to be done means not sitting on a fence.

Lemings follow others off cliff faces.

UTB
mediocrity
wtf you on about
we were very good yet again but didnt quite get the winner
have you never seen chelsea draw at home or man utd

now how do they do it when they spend half a billion on players
only draw games at home
fucking wankers

after last season then
some in here are disappointed about our team

might as well fucking give up Chris
you wont ever achieve being good enough

Glad to see some settle for average - some of us don't !

UTB
Who said anything about average?

Just that some understand that football is one game at a time without it being certain of a result or even a performance will carry on from one game to the next.
You have to keep it going for a whole season but it doesn't mean you will win every game, or even play well every game.
Shit happens, especially when you approach a game as Billy Big Bollox.
As said by my namesake "Football's a funny game"

These two games were seen as a chance to give us breathing room. If Bolton draw there both still in touching distance. Scunthorpe will be happier with this point then we are. Kept themselves right in it with plenty of games left.

I would have loved to have won today but today's result was far from bad with both Scunny & Bolton gaining zero on us. Scunny being happier after witnessing us battering them in the 1st half. Scunthorpe today were very very lucky.

You just don't get it - if you don't now, you never will.

UTB
get what

that people moan when we maintain the gap at the top
when we dont lose any ground
that we played well enough to win but didnt get the break

we have the only fans in the world that can be top 5 points clear of the table
and still have some right miserable sods giving it a good old whinge

watch a team thats continually performing well , from a new start , yet cant support it properly
just want to belittle any attempt to get better

lets look at a dictionary
football supporter
noun
BRITISH
  1. a person who is actively interested in and wishes success for a particular football team.
not one mention of being a nit picking joyless buzz kill

I agree.
We're giving the other teams something to play for still, should we fail to make it (perish the thought) it'll be games like this we can look back at.
But that's not going to happen is it? Jusdt like it didn't in 2012

And that's why you ignore him. Or just develop an immunity like I've done.

Thanks.

What I don't get is: as good as we were today (up to the 18 yard box) there is always room for improvement.

WHEN we go up, i want to be as prepared as possible, and that means solving a number of issues in this division so we are as prepared as we can be.

The 'performance' has been done to death, ok first half was good but what a bad second half in comparison. For a while towards the end we looked as happy with a point as they were and that was such a shame when it was a chance to put 8, yes EIGHT, points between us. It nearly cost us too when they hit the post.

I'm not happy to be honest, it's 'as you were' when it should've and could've been so much more than that.

Moore, Freeman, the back 3 and Fleck were faultless but everyone else in that second half really dropped off and it cost us 2 points, could've been 3.

Yes we made them look ordinary, in that first half we BATTERED them, if you don't turn it into 3 points does it really matter?

And Chris... Matt Done, left back, for 3 minutes? What were you thinking!?

Should've been more.

Edit: what a wanker of a ref by the way. Say no more.
If you feel anything other than positive after that display I think you'll never be happy mate - seriously.

We won't always get what we deserve but that was a magnificent performance and deserves total credit.

One of the players you single out for praise -Freeman - had a decent enough game but imo he wasted so many opportunities with his final ball that it really could have been the difference of 2 points dropped as you refer to it.

Personally I see that as 2 points dropped for Scunthorpe because that's another chance gone for them to close the gap on us and they will go home tonight knowing that there's still a 5 point gap and a massive gulf in class - which they cannot dream of ever making up!

Is Alexander taking the piss?

To be fair, they did hit the post, had Madden put that chance away we could have easily lost the match.

It certainly wasn't the one sided onslaught that the P&G calls would have you believe.

We definitely played well, but not well enough to deserve the win. Their keeper had a quiet afternoon with the only shots on target being pretty tame (other than the goal obviously).

We drew.

We should have won easily.

We could easily have lost.

We're as we were.

Move on.

Try reading it again pal, if you need abit of help, ask the nurse.

I'd have been happy with 3 points, anything less is a missed opportunity. Can play as well as you want it doesn't take you up.
