The 'performance' has been done to death, ok first half was good but what a bad second half in comparison. For a while towards the end we looked as happy with a point as they were and that was such a shame when it was a chance to put 8, yes EIGHT, points between us. It nearly cost us too when they hit the post.

I'm not happy to be honest, it's 'as you were' when it should've and could've been so much more than that.

Moore, Freeman, the back 3 and Fleck were faultless but everyone else in that second half really dropped off and it cost us 2 points, could've been 3.

Yes we made them look ordinary, in that first half we BATTERED them, if you don't turn it into 3 points does it really matter?

And Chris... Matt Done, left back, for 3 minutes? What were you thinking!?

Should've been more.

Edit: what a wanker of a ref by the way. Say no more.

After their goal we restarted the game with massive intensity and purpose and got the equaliser immediately.

Shame we couldn't carry on like that.
But then we scored and stepped off again. No idea why cos when we were playing with that intensity they couldn't handle us.

Yep, agree with first 2 posts.

We were fabulous up to the 18 yard box - we just lack the quality after that.

We didn't win it in the first 10 minutes - should have been 2 nil - and game over.

Premiership ref...........you're having a laugh..........unfortunately the "star" of the show.

We move on.......but MUST do better in the box.

5 points dropped in my eyes, that was a 6 point game for us.
Really disappointed.

Why do we ALWAYS cross to the back post and there's never anyone there? Why doesn't someone gamble or why don't we just stop doing it? It makes no sense

Now I'm not saying were doomed or anything but what makes this hard to stomach is its very united of yesteryear. I got so excited about us being able to comfortably win these pressure games (I know you can't win them all) but ever since Southend away we seem to be very much the united of old. Just keeping it close at the top saving promotion or failure to the last kick. We've had a comfortable promotion offered on a plate and have bottled it. I know everyone is saying there's one less game for them to catch us but there's alot of games left and only a few bad results to knock us out of our spot. We need to start playing like champions.

Sill top of the league.

Still five ahead of them.

Didn't lose a game we could have (and have fucked up against 10 men before)

Mildly disappointed we couldn't finish them, but would imagine they'd play for the point after the red card, so not sat rocking and hugging a blanket.

Still think we are up.

It was 1st vs 2nd, and they are 2nd for a reason. They looked ordinary at times but did what good teams do when under the kosher, ground it out and took their chance.

Absolutely no reason to be down heartened tonight. We are the best team in the league and every other team would swap places with us in a heartbeat.

Expect more of the same next week; Beauty vs The Beast part 2

I'm dissapointed to be honest too. I thought we were poor, when they went down to ten men. Our intensity seem to drop.Fleetwood are starting to concern me. If we lose against Bolton, it's game on.We should have won today. If we what to go up we have to be beating 10 man Scunthorpe at home.

Thank God we've already got those 59 lucky goals from earlier in the season!

They deserved a point in the sense that we didn't ultimately do enough to win it. So Alexander is fair enough there.

His comment on the 2nd half however...

I guess he has been smoking something other than tobacco.

Jesus Christ, I thought Alexander had his head screwed on.

Maybe the Scunny fans are right and he's losing it now.

Nothing from them today suggests they're staying in the top 2.

It wasn't 2 points dropped but more of 1 point gained. In a score draw the team that leads drops the 2 points whereas the team coming from behind to equalise actually wins a point.

Not trying to be clever here but I used the very same reference to a Wendy fan who'se claim to have dropped 2 points in a Sheffield Derby a few years past with Madine getting a late equaliser to make it 2-2.

These two games were seen as a chance to give us breathing room. If Bolton draw there both still in touching distance. Scunthorpe will be happier with this point then we are. Kept themselves right in it with plenty of games left.

.
so how do you see our contenders day

have they won more points

are you saying theyve both won an away point

but we drew away midweek
so does that mean we won a point away midweek. not dropped two

didnt we hit the post in injury time

beginning of feb we were 2nd
now we are top 5 points clear

just think on that see if you think we are failing

Maybe he means they were miles better than they were in the first half (not difficult).

If he is right to say a point is the least they deserved he should have qualified that by also saying it was certainly the most they deserved!

Jean Alexander(Hilda Ogden) more knowledgable , Scunny must think they've won the lottery and on a rollover.Totally outplayed, dirty bastards to boot........"Stanley"

What some of us don't give a monkey about (on match day) is how the opposition do.

It's all about how WE play.

As a team, I could not fault our approach play - our 18 yard play, our balls into the box, our movement in the box, our finishing in the box was, as it has been for most of the season, been below standard.

Being top is one thing - we should be out of sight be now.

Scunthorpe were one of the worst teams I have seen at BDTBL this season - in fact really poor up until the kid got sent off. I take my hat off to them after that as they stepped up - we stepped back. Up until the kid went toff, they were playing at their absolute best they could - at their limit.

We will win the league still - by quite a few points, we just do not, and haven't all season finished teams off. Poor finishing by Hanson and Duffy in the first 10 minutes should have put the game to bed - it is a reoccurring problem.

Sorry, couldn't give a fuck about Bolton, Fleetwood or Scunthorpe - we have a problem finishing - highlighted once again today.

well your in a very small minority

all radio reports say that we dominated all parts of play and cant believe we didnt win
Keith Edwards said it was the best weve played all season
radio 5 live said its hard to see how scunny scraped a point

we should be out of sight is a load of bollocks , a point at bristol rovers is a great point and not losing ground to the other 2 is fine
thats just frustration , yes we are all desperate to go up but it will come and soon

dont finish teams off ? we are joint leading scorers and top
so weve done it in most games
yes wed all love 100 plus points but it rarely happens and its a fairly even league compared to some years

weve got to stop setting too high an expectation ie winning every game
its this teams first season together

did any one go last season
now that was throwing points away with gay abandon
