I hadn't thought of that! Yes they won the 2nd division in 1964, the first in 1969 and 1974.One thing I've noticed about these reviews is they were always in seasons the dirties won their divisions?
BUSTED!!!I hadn't thought of that! Yes they won the 2nd division in 1964, the first in 1969 and 1974.

those home internationals were big games in the 60s especially england v scotland11/4/1964.
Neither us or Wendy had a game on that Saturday as Scotland were playing England at Hampden Park in the Home Internationals. Alan Gilzean scored the only goal of the game to win it for Scotland. I doubt many Blades or Wendy fans bought the Green Un that night but maybe those who bought the Green Un would have noticed the below advert and think "Are players involved from our club?"

Oh yes, didn’t see the team changeBadger too

Didnt realise he was in the England u23s squad in 1955!Nice try, but I now have evidence of the conspiracy. Norman Curtis, not my favourite Wednesday player, was manager of Buxton, and ‘generously’ offered Utd the services of Des Thompson. No wonder it all went so wrong!
Incidentally, one of the consequences of the collapse in United’s form was that I have always been convinced since that November is a bad month for Utd. But now, in 2023, we are unbeaten in the last 2 games, and have moved up the league table today without any matches being played. I will have to stop worrying about November.

That photo absolutely shocks me. My childhood nightmare (Des Thompson) in the same squad as my all-time hero, Duncan Edwards. It is not an AI fake, is it?
