That was the first ever game that Grandad Trig, Trig Jnr (TE) and I went to together. We were in Sheffield for a family do after, attended by various oinkers, what an abolutely wonderful weekend.

Sadly, even if the unclean survive, we'll never re-live those days, though Grandad Trig's final resting place is there, so he'd at least be with us in spirit.

5.46? are you sure?. young kev is on the 1991/2 return match at the front with the obligatory green away shirt on.. (the 3-1 game)

My favorite moment of that day (and there are many, many great moments) was getting back to the car. We'd parked in the YouCan carpark opposite SWD depot and a bloke and his lads were joining the rest of us in celebrating a win whilst coats were put in boots and what-not. Walking up round the corner came his next door neighbour and lad who he'd given a lift to who were pigs. The bloke and his lads just laughed at them - they had been giving it the "Waddle will do this, Hurst will do that, Palmer and Sheridan will run the midfield and you'll never beat Chris Woods" for weeks over the garden fence. The laughter and subsequent piss-taking was a release of pent up frustration that probably went back to Boxing Day. I bet that piggy neighbour senior and junior are wearing similar expressions right now - I honestly thought we'd see a grown man cry. We wished them a long and memorable journey home.

No mobile phones in those days, so had to wait for school on Monday to vent my pent up piss-taking.

The 3-1 at Hillsborough was my best moment watching United. It ranks right up there behind my daughter's birth, her first steps and her learning to ride a bike in terms of fondest memories full stop.

just after 5.46... and the guy on the 3-1, me and kevv are visible but theres a real kevv look-a-likee thats not him, on for longer :)

From my memories of that match Deane had just come back from an illness (glandular fever I think) and wasn't at his best. Also Dane was the best back post player I can remember seeing - he always drifted in from out wide and would finish really well with that cracking left foot of his.
